It is Friday! What are you doing to celebrate it?

Good morning all. Well I got the american doll pj's made. So far 3 dresses & 3 pj's. Also working on car pillows for my 4 grands for their trip to Mich. from Texas this summer.
 
Retirement is not for rest! Have to go shopping today. Haven't been out of the house for over a week. I like to hybernate in the winter!!!

Soon I need to start a queen size afghan for a wedding present.

My plants are starting to grow in the basement, we have a picture window facing south & a grow light down there.
My hibiscus has bloomed all winter!

Hi Mary and everyone:

Hope your art teacher recovers soon.  It's nice of you to visit her and cheer her up.

I too was up early this morning (3:30 a.m.) cleaning the guest bathroom because could not go back to sleep.  I think this  getting up in the middle of the night is going to become a daily thing, and it's ok.  I manage to do a ton of stuff before leaving for work. 

However, I will need a nap before going out tonight.  Not really "out" unless you count going to a viewing as a social outing.  My dad's cousin died suddenly and they are having the viewing tonight from 5p.m. to midnight.  I'm thinking I'll get there at 10:30p.m. and make it a short visit.

We have had several cold fronts in South Florida during the past couple of weeks, which means that the temperature goes down to the low 40s early in the a.m.  BBrrrr!!!  I'm running out of sweaters. 

 Taking half a day off today and going  to see Nine this afternoon.  Haven't taken any time off this school year and all these early mornings have wiped me out this week, so I canceled all my afternoon classes, cleared it with the principal, and I'm out of here is about 1/2 hour.

I hope everyone has a great long weekend and a deamy Valentine's Day with your honey bunny, if applicable.

It is still dark outside here and I'm getting ready to go to a meeting a little later. Since I got home from Calif. I have been testing babies' hearing at the hospital more than usual. Yesterday I was called in late...around 8:30..to test the babies going home.. The Thurs. person didn't show! I was glad that I was available to do it.

We have lots of visitors here right now.....and they are happily setting up their lawn chairs early and laying in the sun all day to take home that winter tan!! I am as white as snow! I really need/want to get to the beach and correct that, but for some reason time just flies lately and tanning is rather low on my list of "to do's."

As I did last year, I lost weight while in Calif. babysitting grands. Just keeping up with their energy burns lots of mine! I was down to 151 when I got back, and am now trying to gain back at least 10 lbs.....so I don't look like a hat rack........Ha. One day I fear this trouble keeping on weight will reverse itself and I'll be back to counting calories, carbs, fats, etc. But right now seems like I can eat anything and it just goes right through without sticking around on my bod.

Watching the news and seeing snow everywhere on the mainland. Yesterday I think they said every state except Florida and Hawaii had snow. So stay warm, safe and healthy. I hope all of you struggling with physical and emotional challenges find peace and resolution.

Burr it's cold........
I can't believe all the snow they've gotten back home (NY) and more to come.  What a winter!!!  

I'm just resting today....trying to relax.......no chores or housework for me.  :-)
