The scale won't budge

NO WEIGHT LOSS for the past 10 days, no matter what I do (reduce carbs, increase exercise).   The fancy digital scale I spent too much money on stubornly flashes 195.6 every morning.

Even my hip and waist measurements, which had dropped considerably during January, are at a standstill.  Feeling a little panicky that I may not lose any more weight.  Or worse, that the weight will start creeping up.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on breaking through a plateau.

DON'T PANIC      it's called a plateau ...  I'm sure you know this.... but, take a deep breath and keep doing what you are suppose to be doing.

We all hit them at one time or another... as long as you are doing what you are suppose to be doing you will be fine.

your body is probably doing some internal rearranging that doesn't show up on the scale or tape measure.  I noticed that about myself at one time too.  all of a sudden my body shifted and settled then it was back to losing weight again.

Hang tough... you will be losing again soon.

Millie's right...just relax, I know that is easy for me to say but really this is for lifetime. Just keep walking and watch your carbs.

Stay off the scale, the scale is not your friend. Your body is adjusting.
How much are you eating? Maybe you need to increase your calories because you are exercising?

I remember I was 188 for 4 months then all of a sudden my weight started falling and I was at 160. Our bodies seem to take a "breather" now and then to regroup.

Don't panic. It took me 2 years to get to a size 6/8...I say size because I don't weigh myself. I can tell by my panties when I put on weight.

Thank you for the feedback Millie and Debbie, you're a couple of :

I will stay off the scale till the end of the month.  Will probably have to get my son to keep it at his house.

My nut warned me that I would hit a major stall at about 6 months out. Being a late bloomer, I waited until the 7th month. About drove me nuts.

Be patient, follow your food plan and HIDE the scale.

I just had my NUT visit today.  I learned a LOT.  The one thing she told me was that when people find that they are hungry more often and find themselves not losing or even gaining, she asks 2 questions.

1) Are you following the no drinking before, during and after meals rule?
2) Are you eating soft foods and not dense protein.

She said that the Sphincter muscle is stimulated by liquids, so the stomach empties, allowing you to eat more.  Mushies also don't stay in the stomach as long.

Don't know if this will help, or if either of these things are true with you.  But I found that to be interesting and something I hadn't learned while surfing OH.

Some people might not support my WLS decision.
Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Thanks so much for the advice.

Hiding the scale makes a lot of sense.  I did not weigh myself this morning and feel better already.

So it's eating more solids and maintaning the 30/30 rule when it comes to eating and drinking.  No fluids for 30 min before or after eating.
