rowing, sailing, sledding, whatever you're doing, what are you eating?

Ahoy Crewbies, how's is going today? Another snow day, which means I'm stuck in the house with too many temptationsl. My eating is so much more structured when I can go to work with my little tupperware containers. When those are gone, that's it. Here, there's way too much to munch on. So, hopefully the mountain of paperwork that I have to weed through for the taxes will keep me occupied enough to stay on track.

Latte

b---sandwich thin w/ ff cream cheese and deli sliced roast beef

protein coffee

s--benefit bar

l--the last of the Vietnamese soup. $11 for a bowl of soup that's lasted 3 meals. Not bad!

Will post later when I get the rest of the day figured out. Hope you all have a good day!

Ahoy Captain!

Well yesterday I was perfect.  Stayed on track.  Today I am going to do the same.  I told you my only problem is at night.  I want to snack.  I bought myself some pork rinds and have a few of them now in the evening.  Seems to help, plus they have protein.

Coffee

B- Protein drink with berries
S-  String cheese and applesauce
L-  Chili
Snack -  Doubt it
D-  Kielbassi and a salad
S-  Pork rinds

That is it for me Captain!

Mary

I am on my way.  What a ride it has been.

I have real mixed feelings about pork rinds. Yes, 35 grams of protein in 2 oz, but when it comes down to it, they really are nothing but fried fat...literally. The thought of eating deep fried pork skin kinda grosses me out, too.

What ever keeps your boat floatin'!

HI Susan,

Well you are right.  I figured I don't eat anything else really with lots of fat in it.  A little bit won't hurt. At least I hope not.   Going to try it out for a week or so and see what happens.  I do switch to almonds on some occassions

Thanks for your input

Here's the deal. Animal fat is saturated fat, which is the bad kind. Almonds and other nuts (pecans are actually higher on the "nut"list) are monounsaturated fat, which are the good fats that we actually need.

But...you do get a big protein bang for your buck with the pork rinds. Geez, 35 grams in 2 oz??? Wowzers! Also, we do malabsorb fats to a degree, so if you like them and they work for you, why not give it a try?

Too much chocolate in my life lately and it's not even Valentine's day yet.  I managed to not eat any of the chocolate cupcakes I made for my Tiger Cub meeting last night.  Sprinkled them with mini semi-sweet m&ms and one conversation heart in the middle.  The kids loved them - and some of the Dad's too. LOL.

B - protein bar and applesauce
L - something Chinese - going to a goodbye luncheon for laid off co-workers.
S - yogurt
S - chocolate SF pudding
D - Ground Turkey Meatloaf and broccoli

I'll try not to sink us today.

Water, vitamins and calcium.
Have a good day.
Bev

Ahhhh, chocolate. The darker the better. Can you see my eyes glaze over here? I had quite a bender with dark chocolate for a long while. Right after my Nut complemented me on logging my 2 pieces of Dove Dark after dinner. She told me not only was it good for me, but I should allow myself an indulgence as long as I tracked it and kept it in moderation. Well.....that was all I needed to hear. PERMISSION!!!  The Nut said it was a good thing, so if a little is good, a whole lot is better, right?  WRONG!

Haven't had any now for a long time. I do keep Wherther's sugar free hard carmels in the house at all times, though. 8 calories each. Nice for when that sweet attack happens.

Just be sure to change the direction of the circle now and then to work different muscles....lol. Rowing in circles is still rowing.

Hugs Honey!
