Good morning Crewbies!

Did everyone survive the Super Bowl parties? We went to lunch  for Jeff's birthday, then back to their house for snacks and the game. The announced yesterday that they've become Vegan----eeeegads!! They've done it before and it didn't stick, so we'll see, but it sure makes it difficult for me to cook when they come over. Well, not difficult, just more of a challenge.

Had a couple of beers, haven't even had one whole beer in 3+ years, but TWO??? Still, only barely got over my 1400 cals for the day, so that was good!  Oh, and I forgot to mention the vegan chocolate birthday cake. Yummy, in spite of itself, not too sweet, which, of course isn't a good thing for me!

Here's today, Fosamax Monday.

no coffee yet

bkfst burrito

latte

protein coffee

s--fiber bar

l--leftover Pho (Vietnamese noodle/veggie soup)

s--applesauce/ cottage cheese

d--roasted chicken w/ sweetpotato and a green veggie to be decided

s--???

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  My timer just went off......COFFEE TIME----FINALLY!

I did pretty good yesterday, even though I was at a Super Bowl party with my friends.  Ate ham and turkey and cheese mostly.  Had 3 potato chips.  And 1 1/2 quarts of Crystal Light.  I know I will have an omelet for breakfast today, but I know of nothing else at this time. Mary and I will probably get up and cook at abuot 11 or 12.  Don't even know what is in the freezer.  But we will get it going.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi Susan and George and all those menu planners to come!

I didn't do toooooo bad yesterday.  I did have  a handful of chex mix.  Ate trail mix of sunflower seeds, soy nuts and raisins.   Not great but satisfied the crunchy need.

Today is up in the air for me.  Have to get back on track

B-  Protein drink
S-  String cheese
L- Turkey and cheese roll up
Dinner- Pork cutlet , salad and peas
S-  String cheese I guess.  Even though there are too many snacks left over from yesterday.  Looks like an early bed time for me!

Hi Bev...

Summer squash.. I love squash.

Why do you take 5 calcium pills and what kind do you take?  I only take two a day.

Inquiring minds want to know...lol

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Hi Mary Margaret,
I take five because I have lap band and the petite pills are all I can get down.  Five pills is 1,000 mg. of calcium and 1250 IU of Vitamin D.  I've tried the big pills but they sit for hours feeling like they are stuck.  Not comfortable at all. I space the petites about 2 hours apart throughout the day.
I think summer squash tastes like it's already buttered.  And it goes down so easy.
Have a great day.
Bev

Hi Bev,

Do you space out those calcium tabs through out the day? You only absorb about 600 mg at a time, so you won't be getting all that you need unless you spread them out.

P.S.   The only squash I eat is yellow or spaghetti. Think I'll put some on the "what to eat while Gary's gone" list.

Hi Susan,
Yes, I spread them out over the day.  I try to remember one every two hours or so.  Some days I forget.
Thanks for looking out for me.

I take mine when I start drinking 30 minutes after each meal. Good way for me to remember.
