New to This Group
Hi All - i am new to this group. Just had my surgery(RNY) this past Wed. (2/3). Trying to figure a way to get in all the fluids. Protein hasn't been a problem so far. I actually found one I really like. Just wanted to introduce myself. I live in Miami, Florida. I am a Human Resources professional and my name is Sally. Look forward to being a part of the group as I start my new life.

Welcome, Sally! One of the things that helped me get in my fluids was an insulated cup of ice chips at hand all the time the first few weeks. May have been hard on my teeth but I enjoyed chewing on that ice when I couldn't chew on anything else! And it helped me get in that liquid. I also relied on broth and sugar free popsicles for those first few weeks. It will come. I know it doesn't seem like it right now but just keep trying to get in a few sips at a time every little bit. I'm glad you found us. This is a great place to hang out. I started here about a year before I had surgery and my surgery date was February 16, 2005. Hard to believe almost 5 years ago! Best decision I ever made.

Sally,
Welcome to the OFF support board, lots of friendly folks to encourage and support you in this sometimes wacky journey of WLS. . . you are just days out, just keep sipping and you will find a way to get your fluids in, at this early stage of things, it is near impossible to do it all, but do it as best you can and remember the fluid in your protein drinks are a part of your fluid intake. . .
Welcome to the Loser's Bench, hope your journey proves to be amazing and full of WOW moments and a return to health!

Thanks so much to all of you that have replied to my post. It certainly is good to kknow that I have people out there that been through this an care. So far today (8:51 pm here) I have gotten in 56 grams of protein and 32 ozs of liquid. Hopefully I will do better tomorrow and I still have a few more hours today. Again, thanks to all.
