saturday morning review
Well Jacki, my heart goes out to you and all the others that got snow dumped on them. Here in Northern Michigan the sun is shining. Yes, I said the 's' word, SUN. Haven't seen it much lately so this is a real treat.
Mailed my three great nephews winter gloves so they don't have to wear socks on their hands when they go out to play. They used to live up here, but moved to Tennessee 5 or 6 years ago, so they don't have gloves or mittens. I saw some at a dollar store that was going out of business, so I couldn't resist. My niece will have a good laugh that Aunt Jan is looking after the little guys.
My poker buddies and I are planning a trip out to Colorado (Littleton) to visit our former poker buddy that moved out there. We've gone out once before (b4 WLS) and I had a tough time getting around, because of my weight and because of plantar faciitis in both feet. Now both problems are fixed, so I'm good to go. Looking forward to that in June.
Finally got the dogs out for a nice long walk yesterday. I'm having trouble with my 6.5 year old dog. She's waking up around 3 every morning and barking. (she's in a crate at night) She never did this before, and has been doing it now for about a month. I've tried to ignore it, but I become frustrated and end up getting up and putting her outside, then back into her crate. She does pee when I put her out, but I don't think that's the reason.
Well, I've certainly been long winded today. Have a safe day everyone!

Hi Jacki and my OFF family:
I'm up late as usual. Went out after work with my coworkers ... our last Friday bash; for one coworker, it was his last Friday night working. We closed out the bar ... they had to kick us out again. Lots of tears and hugs and goodbyes for everyone all around at work and at the bar. Tonight's my last night ... 31 years of a wonderful career in the newspaper business. It was all I ever wanted to do. Ink is in my blood, as they say. I was in love with it from the first time my dad brought home the Chicago Sun-Times and I got ink all over my hands. I knew I wanted to be a writer and work at a newspaper. I tried other things early on and it wasn't a good fit. I loved being in the news biz, though. There was this adrenaline rush and a high from scooping the competition, meeting deadlines, writing a good story. I just can't explain ... it was better than booze (I can't say it was better than sex since I've never had that). It was such a natural high.
So anyway, I go in at 5 for my last shift tonight. I'm looking forward to getting out of that place. I'm sick of it. Just want it to be over, yet, I'm going to miss my Press "family" ... my coworkers who have supported me in so many ways. I just want to get on with my life after the Press. I know it's going to be the start of a whole new adventure.
No snow here, just sunshine and 25 degrees and a little windy. It was very windy and chilly last night when I got home. Took me forever to warm up.
Well, for those of you on the East Coast and the Mid-Atlantic states, stay inside and stay warm and safe. No sense in going out in a snowstorm if you don't have to.
Have a good day.

Hi,
Im home from Denver, got here at 10am yesterday. I have already cleaned my bathroom and working on my kitchen. My sister is comming and I dont want her to.
I saw my surgeon on Thursday and yes I have gained 20 pounds and my labs are in the crapper. I am on 700 calories a day back to basics he said. I already have lost 2 pounds with being on basics. I think that is what I need to do. I asked him about the rose procedure and he didnt reccomend it. I also am going to go and join the cheap gym.
I am in mnd set to loose this 20 pounds so I am going it.
I work tomorrow night from 7p to 1130p.

Carla,
You can do it. . . I never made it to my goal and gained weight recently, but I lost some, just by cutting back on the bad foods I was eating and going back to the gym regularly, by Monday I should know just what I actually lost due to my exercise and food program, as since I had a stomach bug, I won't credit myself for the 4.5 lbs. I was down this morning. . . lol
Hugs, Laureen
