Unmade beds

 
Relearning to be mindful when you eat is just like making your bed. You need to be willing to see when your bed is a mess of covers. Every time your bed looks like that, you have a choice to do something about it or not. If having a made bed is important to you, after choosing to make it day after day, it becomes the most natural thing in the world to hop (or drag) yourself out of bed in the morning and make it right away. It ceases to take that much effort because by then it is just habit. It is just what you do.

So the first step is being willing to acknowledge the bed is a mess. The second step is to take action. And, yup, it will be something you do every day.

So true, so true!!!
Whenever anyone asks me "how did you lose all that weight" I ALWAYS tell them..."I changed my relationship with food".  If I had not done that and if I don't continue to fine tune it I would regain it like I always did in the past so for me this is pretty much the most important relationship in my life.

Side note:  I am anal about making my bed.  I will not leave the house without the bed made.....

I hardly ever make my bed and when I do my hubby is surprised. He makes the bed much more than I do!

Yes, that is the key for all of us, to change our relationship with food....and for me I have to add exercise.

Yes, let's hang out....I'll help you with the bed and you can help me with exercise.
For the last 2 weeks I should be doing my daily cardio and I have not done it all!  I really need to get my butt in gear (even with the wound I can still walk and should be!!)

Okay, I'll start making my bed and you go for that walk!

I betcha if you start walking that will get your blood system flowing and you will heal even faster!
It's really cold outside today or for some reason I'm chilled today.
I plan on doing spin class after work...that will heat me up for sure!

Yes....I immediately make my bed as soon as I get out of it....it just comes naturally....now I need to do same for eating....thank you!

I need to start making my bed it makes the bed so much nicer anyway...just do it automatically like brushing our teeth.

By 2 years out we should be "mindful eating" without a second thought...but dang...put chocolate in front of me and all reasoning goes out the window!

 Heavy Sigh.....  when I make my bed I can never get all those wrinkles out or bounce a quarter on it.  lol lol

I do, however, need to change my eating habits.  I'm rowing my boat in circles lately... and ending  up in the same spot.

That's okay Millie, just keep rowing with us.

P.S. I can't get the wrinkles out of my body but I can bounce a quarter on it! There is muscle under the wrinkles! LOL
