Its Thursday at 1220 Denver time.....
Good morning Carla and my OFF buddies,
Carla, I've only flown on one red-eye and it took me two days to recover. Of course, I was pregnant at the time, so I'm sure that contributed to my misery, but I've never flown on another. Good luck to ya!
George, employee issues like yours is one main reason I've never owned my own salon. God love you for having such patience. Vent away my friend, it's why we're here!
Speaking of venting, I had an issue with a co-worker yesterday that frosted my hiney. Gary's mom is in CA, we're in AR. She doesn't like AR, all of her family is in CA and although we've talked about her living here, we just couldn't make her leave her familiar surroundings. Gary's sisters have found her a lovely board and care home where she is well taken care of. We are a place of respite for all of them. Rose has come here 5 times for two weeks at a time to give the girls a break (before she got so bad that she needed to be placed in a facility), and the girls have all come here for the same reason. So, everyone is comfortable with the situation the way we've worked it out. We send money or Saint Bella for her personal care. The girls both owe her money, to the tune of thousands of dollars each, so they contribute to her care to pay back their debt.
So....that's the background. Yesterday my friend and I were talking about Gary going home and Rose's recent decline. She looked at me and said " he needs to bring her back here so you two can step up to your part of the responsibility". WTH???? I was speechless (yeah, me), and hurt to think that we are shirking our responsibilities. Turns out she has two sisters that don't do anything to help with their mom, not that she's ill, but one hasn't vistied in 8 years and lives 3 hours away. She's simply frustrated, but I was hurt that she would lash out at me like that when she doesn't know the whole story. So, that was my day. Fun.
Okay, I've rattled enough and taken enough space up. Off to do the What Are You Eating thread to see how everyone's boat is floating. Hope you all have a grand day. Mine is filled with rain, taxes, laundry and such.

She's super, super involved with her family( husband, 2 daughters, mom, dad) and her sisters aren't involved with her mom or dad at all. I think she just takes on too much, like helping her 28 yr old daughter buy a house. She actually lost 10 lbs in the two weeks of looking and then finding finance and now waiting to close. She had herself that worked up....I told her God only knows what's going to happen if either one of her daughters gets married. She'll waste away!
After our little "discussion" she said she has to take care of her mom, her dad, husband, two girls and work too and she doesn't get any help from anyone. My feeling is her girls are 28 + 30, why do they still need to be taken care of? So, you can see what kind of a person she is...
I know she was just venting frustration, so I'll just keep my yap trap shut and let it go. Unless, that is, she brings it up to me. Then I'll have to hurt her. lol

Connie,
You're such a sweetheart...it's really a pleasure reading your posts and being your friend. I hope everything is okay with your family now. Prayers were uplifted yesterday for them, and will be again today! Have a great Superbowl Sunday!
I wanted to say that there are so many wonderful friends here, I can't imagine going through this surgery without each and every one of you!
