Hope you have a better day filled with good news.

Cleaning up the fridge for the next 2 days.  In my future, I see cottage cheese, yogurt, sliced turkey, cheese sticks, tossed salad, and whatever else I need to use up.  I'll try to make palatable combinations.  I'll fill in with coffee.  Maybe try some protein powder in it to see if it's tasty.  I still have some kicking around.  Don't use it much.

See, I do have healthy stuff home.  Unfortunately, there are also cookies in the freezer.  Damn cookies.....

I'm hooked on protein in my coffee. Today I used vanilla. One oz warm water, 1 heaping tbs vanilla protein, mixed well. Then, added 2 oz espresso and filled the cup the rest of the way with boiling water. Not exactly a latte, but close enough to make me think I can let go of the 3 cups of milk a day and maybe go to one. Less carbs, same amout of protein.
I've also used chocolate protein powder and love it just as much.

Protein powder clumps up in hot liquid.  Guess I've got to mix it, then add the boiling water.  I'm lazy, and try to avoid more than one step.  Ergo, clumpy, yucky mess.  I'll try your idea.

I have you on the list for my carry on.  You'd fit, I think.  Wish you were coming with us, but we'll be sure to have lots of fun for you.

Next time.....

Okay, for the true and honest details of how I make my protein coffee:
First, I put the tbs powder into a cup with the instant coffee (if I'm not doing espresso), then, I add about an ounce of warm water and stir vigorously. With a strainer over another cup, I pour the protein/coffee mixture through the strainer to get out any clumps. THEN I add the boiling water.

I'm too lazy for that.  Yes, it's true.  I'm really, really lazy.  Then I'd have to wash the strainer.   Here's what I just did.

Mixed 1 scoop of vanilla pro powder in about 3 ox of lukewarm water in a big coffee mug, using a small wire whisk to mix the hell out of it.  Voila!  No lumps!  I have one of those little tiny hand held mixers somewhere, but I can't find it right now.  (It's probably with my lists of what to pack for the trip...)  Then I stuck the cup under my Keurig coffee maker (that I got for $25 at a yard sale last year, yeah!), and made an 8 oz cup of a bold coffee right into the cup.  1 packet of Splenda, and I'm good to go.

It worked, and will up my protein count, although I probably don't need it.  It's really an excuse for an extra cup of coff in the morning.

Isn't this fun, sharing ?

I think I may be a bit overwhelmed right now.  I'm getting silly....

I have a frother and I LOVE it!!!  It makes the protein nice and thick so I think I'm having a latte.  Ymmmmm

That coffee protein sounds pretty interesting.....I think I'll try it tomorrow as I'm doing my 2 hour drive to the surgeon.  Thanks for posting the yummy idea.
