OT: Share button
I'm not sure if you all know this but your info is not private here. Even without the Share button it is public domain. Anyone can read it. This is one of the reasons Margo and I are so adamant about people posting addresses and phone numbers on these threads. There have been a few cases of stalkers in the past. Even without the share button.....your public domain.
This is one of the reasons that I don't post a lot of personal stuff here, I don't want my ex-hubby in Australia what I am doing with my life. None of his business.
Facebook is not the only thread you can post to with that button, I think it covers most all of the RSS feeds there are, some I've never heard of...
So, my point is, and you all probably won't read this because it is coming from me is: no matter if they take the buttons away or not, it's still open game.

Women are angels.
...and when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...on a broomstick.
We are flexible.

I don't know if anyone else gets this; but I get a pop up screen once in while to share. Anyone else notice this?

I am on my way. What a ride it has been.

I read your post, Darlene, not sure why you said "you all probably won't read this because it is coming from me ..."
I've learned not to post anything too personal anymore. Someone once said you can't totally trust anyone on the internet. Sad but true.
Still, I object to this sharing stuff. Of course we should be careful. I still don't want my posts shared on Facebook. OH could start a group on FB and then point people over here. Why bring our forum to the attention of people who wouldn't even ever think of us? :P Just don't like it. Period.
ETA: I guess I'm just a retro hippe-wanna-be, lol. I protest the establishment maaaan.

Hi Darlene, I always read your stuff...don't know where that negativity is coming from.
I never post anything I wouldn't say to someones face anyway. It's just this share button really ticks me off. Of course anyone can read at anytime what we post. Just google your name and see what comes up! Privacy is the thing of the past.

Very true that nothing is truly private once posted on the internet HOWEVER, for me the issue is that if OH can remove it for some forums like the Plastics, Rants and Raves, WLS Singles, and more....why can't they remove it at the request of the members of this forum. I'd be happy if they just gave a valid reason for removing on other sites and the reason they won't remove it here.
Anyhow....I'm done trying to discuss it with them.
I always read your postings and often respond.
BTW - I have a Dundee cake (fruit cake) soaking in whiskey since Dec....thinking of opening it in a couple of weeks. thanks again for the recipe
