YooHoo, it's Tuesday, where is everybody?
Hi Grammy and my OFF family:
So glad things are going well with you ... and a new big-screen TV, too ... just in time for the Super Bowl. Sounds good to me! I wouldn't have room for one, but my brother has a big TV and it's awesome.
I put money down on a recliner yesterday. I can't get it until I get my final paychecks from work (I get a series of five vacation checks next week, then the severance check the following week). My lift chair recliner that I got from Paulette is shot ... it's 30 years old and doesn't lift very well or recline either. This isn't a lift reclincer but it's very nice and only cost me $344. I got the fabric protection and 5-year warranty and then delivery cost me because I can't pick it up and have no vehicle to do so. It's nice and cushy and big ... it will be very comfortable. I can get both cats on the footrest easily. They'll love it. I wanted it in green to match my couch, but they only had a light brown, chocolate brown and berry red, so I got the chocolate, because light brown would show the dirt too much (and I'm a slob) ... the chocolate will show the cat hair too much, but I'd prefer a dark color and berry red doesn't really go with anything.
That was my big day yesterday. Then I met with the realtor and signed all the papers to put my condo on the market. Kinda sad day. Then I did my taxes ... I'll get a nice federal refund, a small state refund; haven't done my city return but usually that zeroes out.
Also saw my psychologist and we talked about my depression; she said she missed the signs that I was severely depressed and should have started me on antidepressants earlier. Well, you guys didn't. I think sometimes doctors don't listen as well as nonprofessionals. She apologized for that. I don't blame her entirely; I can mask my symptoms pretty well sometimes; I can act upbeat at times when I'm not.
Well, anyway, this is the first day of my last week at work. Am I sad? A little ... I have worked nearly 31 years in the newspaper business. It was all I ever wanted to do, to be a journalist, to tell stories, to put words together and make sure others put words together properly, as I do now as an editor. But in a way, the layoff, I think, will be good for me, because I just can't sit long with my knee bent without being in severe pain. And so it's the start of a new adventure for me, as all my other jobs have been when I've moved cross-country. My bitterness is going away ... still a little there, but not as much as before.
Well, it's snowing again. Have a good day and stay warm.

Hi Everybody, I have been pretty busy this week. I have my support group meeting tonight. It has been nice as far as weather is concerned. I hope it stays that way for awhile.
Grammy lew, what kind of TV did you purchase? Good luck with your chemo.
Have a great week everyone. Mona

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!
Yay for you Carolyn. Finally, good news reported on here! Seems like so many people are going thru bad times, it's nice to hear something good.
I've gone to the doctor for a checkup and she was very happy with how everything looks. I don't have to go bac****il August for one more follow up and then she's setting me free. (This is my Gyn.)
Wow, your new TV is more than twice the size of our big one! You must have a very large room. No where in my room would a TV that large fit, unless I mounted it above the fireplace. Would love a big one, but room constraints prevent it.

Our tiny mite Becky
is curled in my lap to get her little paws warm. Keeps me cozy too.
My new therapist is right on the ball and can read through my BS. Like Eileen, I too can mask my inner feelings and put on a happy face.
We are going to work on my unhealthy relationship with food - it is a love/hate relationship. She is pulling in a colleague who specializes in eating disorders.
Becky "kneads" my attention. She is making bread on my knee.
Kisses

Hi Grammy and the rest!
I know I'll be one of the last to post. I think the share button has decreased the posters. The button doesn't bother me- my surgery has always been out in the open and I'm pretty much an open book. If I run for Senator I might have problems though... :).
I just wanted to congratulate you Grammy on your whipping through this cancer treatment. You must come from some pretty hardy stock! When I had radiation there were lots of side effects. It wasn't HORRIBLE but it surely slowed me down a lot.
My granddog is losing her female innards in the morning. I'm a firm believer in spaying- but $180 is so expensive! I guess it isn't when you see that a vet is a medical doctor with as much training as a human doctor. Then $180 is nothing!
I want to get my two cents in concerning the Academy Awards. I LOVED "Up In The Air".... I liked "Avatar" but less than the George Clooney movie. I'm also rooting for "The Hurt Locker" even though I haven't seen it yet. It's star is from Modesto, CA, which is just south of my town. I shop in Modesto and he is a hometown boy.

Glad to hear you're doing well Grammy. The whole process will be over soon and you will be able to relax and enjoy life.
Eileen, I hate hearing you've lost your job. Can you go on disability leave before your actual termination date? Do you have Short Term or Long Term disability coverage? You certainly have reason to with that knee.
Linda S. and Marc - You get back here right now! That's an order!
