Hi Grammylew and all my OFF friends,
Tonight DH and I will go hang banner signs at some key locations around town to advertize the Sweetheart Dance to benefit the boy scouts.
Tomorrow I take the food donation box that we collected for the local food bank.  It's almost full.
I'm halfway though the afghan I'm making.  I have to get on the treadmill today because all this crocheting has me sitting too much.
Work is slow because of reorganization after the lay off.  We have to refigure who is doing what.
We are supposed to get some snow tonight . . . just an inch.  Still very cold around here.  Once my hands and feet are cold I'm chilled to the bone.  DH didn't do a fire last night, I hope he does one tonight.
I'm stalled right now because of inactivity and my choices of food haven't been that good.  I am grateful it hasn't resulted in a gain.  After lunch is my tough part of the day. . . I want to snack too much and I'm just here at my desk thinking about it.  Even too much of good snacks are bad. Well, todays another day to get it right.
Welcome to the newbies.  Grammylew, I'm glad you have the energy to do all you have been doing and got the chemo schedule you wanted.  Keep on keeping on.  I had radiation and not chemo.  The radiation made me tired. (Not to mention the two surgeries before the radiation.)  So I'm glad you are doing well.

Good morning, Grammylew and everyone who follows!

I wish I'd slept in!  :P  I was up at 4 a.m.  I was hoping I'd be sleepy enough to take a nap later, we'll see.  I was on the board earlier and saw there wasn't a daily post yet.  I thought about starting one but kept dithering about it.  How silly of me.

Grammylew, that's really good news you have to share.  While celebrating with food might be cheaper, having that nice new TV will pay off bigger and longer, for sure!  Enjoy!

I don't have much on my schedule today.  My stepdaughter Linda never called back to re-arrange celebrating Little T's birthday so ... I guess that's not happening until the regular visit Saturday.  Well, that's OK.  I will contact the little guy's dad and arrange a time for DH and me to see him this week.

I changed my avi because after reading Susan's post and the post from OH about the share button I thought I'd rather be safe than sorry about having T's picture go everywhere.  I also selected not to share my location.  This is really ridiculous.

So what did you all think of the Oscar nominations?  No surprises for me--I'm sure Avatar will win.  I'm surprised at some of the nominations though.  Up in the Air for best picture?  Are you kidding me?  LOL...

well today finds it still cold and another 6 weeks of winter....GRRRRRRRRR calling for a dusting of snow today then this weekend maybe some accumulatiing snow....GRRRRRR

went to walmart last night and bought more yarn for another afghan. this one will be for ricks mom for her birthday and also for mothers day from us. got one row done last night and will be working on it today. looking pretty already...i didn't care for the colors she picked out but it is looking better now that i have the flowers made and hooked together. rick is aloso looking at other colors for me to make another one when i am through with his moms...lol guess he likes how they turn out ;-) maybe i can make one for his daughter for her birthday or Christmas this year....hopefully she won't be in jail...still waiting for the court date and so far so good because she was told yesterday to call again march 1st. looks more like she will NOT be getting time.

going to dentist in a little bit and get the root canal tooth finished??? not sure what he plans on doing today...i am NOT ready for the crown because i do not have the money for that. tooth is finally feeling better again and i just cringe at the thought of him messing with it again....sighs

so not much else happening here so best get butt in gear and get cleaned up and go....have a good day and know that i AM thinking of you all!!!!  :-)

 

 

 

Owwwweeeee on that root canal, Judy!   I've had several and I hate them.

And the cost!  (shudder)  Ted accidentally swallowed his crown so he needs a new one.  We didn't find it when nature took its course (ewwww).  He also needs a root canal and crown for another tooth.  We don't have dental insurance so we are going to the local clinic.  We have to pay $300 upfront for the new crown.  Another$300 for the additional work.  considering what dentists charge, this is a real deal but it HURTS because we are so financially strapped.  Hear you on that.  (((hugs)))

oh this tooth has been re-done free of charge from my dentist!!! he did the permanent filling and now we wait til i get rich enough for the crown...he looked at another tooth on the other side and said it needed a crown sooner than the root canal one did....like i said i am not rich enough for this crown no matter how bad i need it. lucky me i have dental insurance but it will still cost me an arm and a leg....

good luck to your hubby on his tooth!!! and trust me i know how it feels to be strapped for cash....

It's crazy busy here at work with the "mock Joint commission survey" but this week will fly by really fast.

SD went to get her dress altered, it was way too long and the straps needed to be taken up. It will cost 134.00 (and it's a 99.00 dress) oh well, what do  you do when your short??? Anyway she will look beautiful and feel blessed on her wedding day or should I say night?

It's cold and snowy here in Michigan, I went to the dentist to replace an old filling and it was a good thing to do cuz there was a tiny cavity starting under the old filling. Now I'm numb still and sipping on my Atkins shake to get some protein in.

Grammy, sounds like good news on the cancer/chemo front... congratulations.  Let me know how you like the TV we are thinking of getting the 60" Plasma.

I haven't been posting lately....nothing new to share.....still dealing with my wound issues...going back to the surgeon on Friday....don't want to bore you all with my same-old-same-old story.

MAN it's been cold around here; can't wait for this cold snap to move out.

I hate to say it Ruth, but you don't know cold right now!  Maybe for FL, but come on up here and experience true cold!  I'd probably be walking around in shorts down there right now.

I got used to the warm weather real cold.  I lived in NY most of my life and then spent almost 5 years in Omaha NE so I know cold.  It is funny tho how now I complain when the temp doesn't get over 60......shows how fast the body can get accustom to change.
