Back from surgery!

Thank you for the encouragement Sybul. I somehow doubt I will turn into a whirlwind of activity any time soon, but I will be happy if I can get off my wheelchair for a bit.

Hi Amalia, welcome to the losers' bench!  You're new to OH too?  Welcome welcome welcome!  The immediate aftermath from surgery is no picnic and what happened during the surgery sure was a ***** too!  It does all get much much much better!

I think being hungry can be normal.  I didn't think I'd feel hungry after my surgery so I was really surprised how quickly my new little tummy "woke up" too.  It gets a lot easier as you adjust to your new size and how much to eat at one time.  Frequent small meals--that's a good way to go!  How long does the doctor want you on just liquids?  I moved to pureed foods about 10 days after surgery and that helped me feel fuller.

Hello irishcoda. I've been "hanging around" OH for a couple of months now as I waited for my surgery. The support I have found here has been amazing and it sure beats the "support" at home - where there is none.
The doc wants me on clear liquids for a couple of weeks. I can't wait for pureed foods! Anything that will stay in my mouth longer than 1 second will be pure bliss at this point!

Hang in there, a couple of weeks will go by quick!  No wonder you're hungry all the time though.  Liquids do tend to go through us very fast.   Clear liquid, not full liquids?  Hmmm...keep a pitcher handy, ;-)  Keep refilling your glass.  Keep us posted of your progress.
