My PCP's nurse called today and left me a message to call back as soon as I could.  This got me worried because I figured it must me something they found in my abdominal CT I had done over a week ago.  I get on the phone and she tells me that the doctor wants me to go see my surgeon.  She told me my results showed a diverticuli on the fundus of my stomach.  I said ok and hung up.  Something was nagging at me and then it hit...  a diverticuli is a pouch.  People get them usually in their intestines right?  The fundus of the stomach is the top.  Get where i'm going?  I had a RNY bypass.  He was looking at my pouch, lol.  I would think he would have noticed that my stomach was completely seperated from the pouch not to mention the rerouted intestine.  Oh well, at least I can be greatful they didn't find anything really wrong!  Thought ya'll would enjoy the laugh.

Unbelieveable!  It makes you wonder, doesn't it.  Because I am sure it says in your medical records that you had RNY.

We pay them big bucks so they don't have to read our charts.  Remember who we are.  Call us to remind us that we have appointments, not wanting to miss out on a penny.

I could go on and on.  However, I do have good doctors.  But it took me a long time to find them too.  I went trough the mill with them.

Had a lump in my chest and the doc was checking the wrong breast. Did he read the charts?

Another doc wqs told I was not there for a pap test but he pulled my panties down and did it anyway though I protested.  My husband was going to go up to see him.

My dad had bypass surgery in 2003.  This past month he went into the hospital with chest pains and was checking my dad and he said, he didn't know my dad had bypass surgery.  Another one who didn't read the chart.

This post should be called Medical nightmares..lol  I could go on

Have a great day!

Now we know why they ask for our name and date of birth even before a doctor or nurse says hello.

I have to admit it's kinda fun going in to have an x-ray when the tech doesn't know I have a band.  They come out and look to see if I have something weird laying across my abdomen.  Or a doctor that is probing your abdomen and comes across my port.  They feel and poke and get a strange look on their faces, then I finally take pity on them and say - "That's the port for my lapband."  I'm bad!  But they really should have seen that information for themselves.

We should have our medical information tattooed on our bodies somewhere.

I have to admit though, I don't think my doctors are getting bucks as big as they should.  With my insurance they can only expect to get paid what the insurance company considers 'allowable' charges. It's amazing how much the doctors have to write off.  I know they are still making a living wage, but a lot of it is because you guys have to pay EVERY penny of what they charge.  Yikes!
