Hey everyone,

If you notice, Kathy S's thread regarding Newsletter suggestions has been deleted. She had responded to me before deleting it to say there is nothing she can do about it, they won't listen to her since she "only helps members".

She sent me a link :   [email protected]   to communicate our concerns to the powers that be. I sent them an e-mail detailing the concerns that our members have.

I encourage everyone to PLEASE send in an e-mail and tell them what you think!  Who knows if it will ever do any good, but venting your feelings to them might help. Especially if they see how many of us are disappointed in this feature.

Yes, it's about the FB thingy, although I don't pretend to know as much about it as other people, I do know that it's causing quite a lot of concern for a lot of the members here. Sending them a note may not do any good, but at least we know we tried.

Pardon my ignorance, I've been away from the forum for a while......... what's the problem with the Share Button?

If you like what you see on a thread and want to share it with your friends on Facebook, you just click on the Share Facebook button.  The problem with this is it copies the entire thread, avatar pictures and all.  There are people who have had Weight Loss Surgery and for their own personal reasons decided not to let people know (coworkers, relatives, etc).  Putting the thread out there jeopardizes their secrecy.  It can bring people to the OH community who never would have come here.  That can be good or bad.  It has its good and bad points, but I see more people against it than for it.

Thanks for explaining it to me George.  I don't use Facebook at all so I'm not up on all ins/outs.
This is a TERRIBLE thing that anyone can copy stuff you post for a particular group only.
I'll be sure to voice my dislike and concerns.
I noticed they took the sharing off the Plastic Surgery site maybe they will be moved to do the same here. 
Of course there is always power in numbers....if everyone were boycott the forum for a while they might get the message.  Hey, we could start another Forum on a private blog site....I'm sure OH would not like to see that happen.
Anyhow, thanks for clearing it up George and thanks to Susan for bringing it up.

I hate pictures of my face but this one wasn't too bad so I figured I'd post it for a while.....

Ohhhhh, now I geddit!  I just sent off my own post about it.  At first I didn't care one way or the other but the more I thought about it--and especially after George explained how it copied the entire thread, avatars/IDs, and all--the more it totally creeped me out.  Why would OH even want to do such a thing?  Yuck.
