It's Thursday, so what's new?

The drive is really easy, actually. About 5 hours, straight shot.

I am really starting to look forward to 5 days on my own. Thinking about doing some sort of 5 day pouch test or protein only thing. Hate this weight gain and want to get it off. Being alone for a few days while I'm *****y would probably be best...lol

morning laureen and OFF....

well we got snow...blowing and drifting snow!!!!!!!! winds gusting to about 35 mph temp is 23 wind chill last i saw was 7. could see up to 5 inches of lake effect snow...yuck!!! i want SPRING!!!!

worked on the afghan yesterday and it is all done with only 2 mistakes and i can't find either one of them!!! yippeeeeeee!!!! already looking for colors for another one to make. maybe i will back down and make one for ricks mom for her birthday or mothers day....can't remember what colors she wants IF i made her one....have to ask her again i guess....LOL

called dr yesterday for my 4 week appointment and got one for 3 weeks...???????? oh well i will go in 3 weeks...lol back still a little iffy where the injection site is but getting better.

working today 1-530 and i am sure it will be slow again due to the weather...so that means the weekend will be a busy one for sure...and i work saturday ALONE again and i better get my break in the afternoon or else!!!!

neighbors that live below us were evicted yesterday for not paying their rent....their mother used to be one of the maintenance people but she was fired a few months ago and hasn't paid rent or been around for a long time. oh well....she is living with one of the maintenance guys i heard and her kids are going to move in with thier sister a few miles away from here. the youngest son is living with his dad in another building here. so now i can get the sleep on weekends and we also won't have to smell the pot being smoked....no more girls coming and going and sitting on the stairs....the party is over!!!! now if the manager would do something about the dog up here and the kid....

need to get some color for my hair again...gray is coming more often it seems...or should i say more of it?? GRRRRR asked rick if i should do it lighter or stay dark...he said i look nice with dark hair. sooooo dark it is. ;-)

well best get going here just wanted to check in incase someone missed me....lol

Good morning Laureen and everyone!
  Thursday is SO close to Friday.  Gosh, I sound like I hate my job.  I really don't - I have a good job.  BUT  I love to be home or doing what I want. 

I'm starting to get more energy with the weight loss and looking forward to that increase continuing!  Clothes get baggy until someone mentions it, then they go off to places where others can use them!

Tonight we are going to supper with some of the WLS friends - that will be fun.

It's a fricken tundra here in Minnesota right now!  Started out below zero and its only supposed to get up to 5 degrees today.  Who lives in a place like this?  LOL

Laureen...you are such an inspiration with your exercising everyday....wish I could...too much leg and hip pain. I do love to exercise....it always makes me feel so much better!

Nothing much happening with me today. I went out for a couple drinks with friends last night. That was so fun! I plan on staying home today....tooooooo cold and windy!

My cleaning fairy is here doing her magic....smells so good!!

I wish you all a really good day. Prayers always for those in need...a few special ones too for special people too.

Hi Laureen and all my OFF friends,
Well it started snowing early this morning and hasn't stopped yet.  Everyone came into the office with horror stories on how long and difficult it was to get in this morning - for some people two hours for a 20 min. trip.  It is supposed to taper off and then start again around 4:00 p.m.  Just in time for rush hour so it looks like everyone will have a difficult time getting home too.  That puts a cabash on my going shopping tonight for my niece's bridal shower gifts.
I made favors with my sister and the maid of honor last night.  It was fun.  The shower is 2/13 so it's Valentine themed.  The wedding is 3/13.
The new car shopping saga continues . . . now Hubby says lets wait until the end of Feb. or the Prez day deals.   I'm just scared, with this weather, of having a fender bender and ruining our trade-in value on the present car.
We have a 2:00 p.m. employee meeting today for the state of the company address from our CEO.  I'm wondering if there will be any surprises.  Like we're being sold. Our entire stock worth is only $15 million so it wouldn't take much for someone to buy us just to get rid of the competition or own our patents.
I'm going to start another afghan - maybe to donate as a raffle prize for the Sweetheart Dance to benefit our boy scouts.  I've got some yellow that looks very spring-like.  I mix it with white.
I'm tired.  Don't know why.  Must be time for another B-12 shot.

Hi There Laureen and friends,

Can't seem to get caught up. I ended up staying at Erin's 4 extra days. Babies were sick, ended up with ear infections, momma is pregnant and tired, daddy had the flu and strep. . . and their septic tank failed. . . Not a good week for that little family. I came home by train on Tuesday and can't seem to get caught up.

Erin took me to see "Avatar" before I came home. I am in love with a blue "guy" with a long tail! I'm not into animation and had never been to anything in 3D but I absolutely loved it. Had to take my glasses off when they were leaping along with very little between them and a long fall. Reinforces the idea that it's what's on the inside that counts. I thought he was "charming" beyond belief.

Weather is a bit warmer but still gloomy. February arrives soon so the end is in sight. Usually by mid February we have some really nice spring like days. Can't wait!

I have my orientation tomorrow morning for my new part time job. I'm going to be a substitute para education in the elementary and middle schools. Have no desire for the responsibility that comes with regular subbing. This should be fun and will also make me feel useful. I've been spending too much time cooking. I plan  to be available on Mondays and Fridays. The lady that interviewed me said she could use me every day. . . Hey, I'm retired not interested in that! I told her 2-3 days a week max.

What else? Not much. . . Shoulder is still killing me. Need to make an appt with orthopedic doctor and see what is going on. Then I can decide what if anything to do about it. Maybe a shot or two of cortozone might help?

Went to the gym today. Did the weight loss program on elliptical. It about kicked my behind but I made it through the program and used up 220 calories and got my heart rate up to my target for 25 minutes. Also did the weight loss program on the treadmill tho I don't like it as well as the elliptical. Forgot my headphones so couldn't listen to anything on the tv.

The gym I joined right before Christmas is a new to our area Gold's Gym. It's in a small space right now but when finished will have a pool for water aerobics, women's area etc. I'm in as an early member and I'll pay $21.00 for as long as I go. It's worth the investment. I just have to get myself out of my door and into the door of the gym. Once I get there I enjoy it and I feel so good for the rest of the day.

I saw "Avatar" today too ... loved it! Maybe if I become an Avatar I'll get my legs back ... ya think? My only problem with the 3D was I sit in the first row before the steps because I don't want to climb, so it's a little hard on my eyes. But otherwise, I enjoyed it immensely. Good "birthday" present (this was my birthday holiday, so I treated myself ... my birthday isn't until April but if I don't take it, I lose it).
