This new thing on Facebook has me upset..

I do NOT want my personal life plastered all over Facebook....I was happy with my little Forum Family...but I am going to back off OH until something else happens.....I am a business woman and I don't want personl things there.

  I think it's a big mistake, too.  I took my ticker off, because I didn't want my weight plastered all over facebook!
  The other ANNOYING thing is when you go to press "reply" on a post, it's SO close to the share button, that the SHARE thingy pops up.   I'm NOT liking this new development.

Dear Mary....you are so right....I would advise you to go in and change some of your settings. I have been too honest on here [like everyone] and OH is going to lose their value to us. I just always knew people could look at our posts, but who came to our little Over 50 forum....it is even a little hard to find...not now. I think OH may have shot themselves in thier foot with this.

I don't like the fact that things can publicly be posted on FB; however, if you google your screen name, you'll see your posts there.  Plain and simple, if I want someone to know something that's of a personal nature, I'll send a PM versus posting.  I know this feels like a safe haven, but it really isn't.  Anyone can google your screen name and get information.  I hope we don't lose our friends from all of this.  The Internet is not as private as we would like to think.

Dear Debbie....I always knew it wasn't private, but they did not use to stick our posts "In the Community" like they do now, but Puleeze FaceBook....I get messages from peopole I have tghe faintest idea who they are on Facebook and just because they are a Friend of a Friend.  I am only on Facebook for Business reasons and for Family reasons.....sooo while I will probably "hover" for awhile....and while I really need you guys.....I think that I will only personal message you from now on.

I think it is completely wrong that OH is doing this as well, so I totally and I completely agree with you. 

I know some posts on the boards are quite personal.  Since early on, I've tried to keep my posts somewhat general just knowing someone could google and get information.

I hope we don't lose you and others.  I find OH to be the most supportive forum and have enjoyed being here for a year now.  The forum has provided me with so much information, support, and friendships developed.  I just hope this doesn't push people away.

The problem with making your profile private is people not on your friends list can not send you a PM.  Like right now, I could not send you or Marti a PM because evidently I am not on your friends list.  Just sayin'.
