Happy Tuesday - what's new with you
Hi Pat and my OFF family:
Pat, glad your foot is doing well, but sorry about the wheelchair flat.
Talked to the realtor yesterday and my life keeps getting crappier ... the condo is only worth $89,000 to $90,000 and I owe $91,000, so the only way I can sell it is on a short sale and then I get nothing out of it. I feel like I have a "kick me" sign on my back. But I have to unload this because I won't be able to afford to keep it if I'm unemployed or on disability. I can more cheaply without it. It just costs way too much. So much for the American dream of home ownership.
So anyway, I told the realtor to go ahead with it because stalling isn't a good idea. The longer I wait, the longer it will take to sell it. Let's just cut the ties now. I did get another check from the bankruptcy trustee for overpayment, so I'm going out today to get my tax software so I can do my income taxes. Then I can pay off my condo fees with that.
My brother and I have our plans for our spring road trip. We are driving to Williamsburg, using his car, which is newer and more fuel-efficient than mine so gas shouldn't be too much. We're going to stop for two days in Hershey, Pa., and use his timeshare resort there (so free lodging), then go to Williamsburg and use the timeshare there for a week, then stop on the way back and use the one in Gatlinburg for two days. So no hotel costs, just maybe a meal a day (because we'll take snacks in the car and eat breakfast in the room at the timeshare, and we've already said we can share meals because meal portions are too big for me and he's trying to do Atkins and should cut his potion sizes anyway). And if we buy admission tickets ahead of time, we can space out expenses. It'll give us something to do, because we're both unemployed; I'll have my severance that I can space out (I plan to put aside $300 a week to use for expenses since I won't have to pay my mortgage until Oct. 1).
I've been living on $330 a week for the last four years anyway; I can continue to do that. It's been hard, but I've done it. I'll just have to keep on budgeting like I have been. Plus, I have unemployment and the pension if I decide to go that way. Still have to find out if I can take pension and unemployment. My brother seems to think I can.
Anyway, enough babbling. I need to go get dressed and go to the bank. We had snow overnight but it's not really bad. Have a good day.

Eileen,
Just as an FYI, be sure to speak to an accountant if you are thinking of doing pension w/unemployment, so you don't get socked next year when you go to do your taxes because you won't have the tax deduction for any mortgage interest if you sell your condo. . .
Wishing you the best and hey when you're in Hersey, let me know, depending on when it is, perhaps I can take a ride and meet you. . . I think it's only like an hour, two at the most, of course, if it is a work day, I won't be able to, but just a thought. . .

Sounds like everyone is busy and things are going all right, for the most part.
We are finally developing a better rhythm with Michael's dialysis. So that is really helping. And once he is able to get into the closer clinic, he may be able to drive himself. That would be great.
We have been socializing quite a bit. We always go to our WLS support coffee on Saturday. It never bothers Michael that he is the only guy - they call him the Harem Master. He's a quiet guy and takes everything in, so they tease that he is writing a book - believe me, that don't hold back because he's there! It's a riot the things they openly discuss. LOL
We went out last night and heard some live music. We have a number of friends that are musicians and so we go out fairly often to hear them play. I love that!
I'm back at work today, and liking the 4 days. The only thing better would be 4 days with 5 days pay!!
Have a good Tuesday!

Good morning all. Not much going on today. We are loving the new pup. He sure is a winer though. If momma even tries to eat he cries. We tried to get Lucy to go out last night & I held the pup, she had a fit! Tomorrow we take them to the vet for the dew claws removed & have Lucy checked out. We haven't left the house in so long it will be a "treat". Well have work to do around here. Have a great day!!!

Good Morning to all....The blizzard we've had for a few days has now let up and the sun is shining but it is still dang blasted cold and windy out there. Nothing much else to report. DH is doing find after his new Pacemaker/Defib. unit was implanted last week. The "Tune Up" job went well and he's feeling good. He still has to take it easy for another week or so and should be able to get clearance to drive in a week. I'm doing good....no problems...maintaining weight loss of 120 pounds. Wish I could post pictures here but do have them on my Facebook so a few people (Eileen and Connie and a few others) know that I do "exist". haha I need to take some donated items to our church this afternoon for the upcoming Klub (Potato Dumpling) annual fundraising dinner this coming Saturday. I have volunteered to work in the kitchen helping prepare the day before (Friday) and that is always alot of fun. I hate Klub but like the other things on the menu like ham, sweet and sour meatballs, baked potatoes and bread pudding with caramel sauce. Not that I can eat very much but just a taste or two is enough. Hoping all are well and those that had to weather winter storms, floods, power outages, mud slides and whatever else have come through it safe and sound.
Hugs to all,
Sandy

Hello fellow weight enthusiasts..lol
Not much going on here today. Snowed over night. I am not thrilled.
Sticking to a good eating plan and wanting to lose 5 lbs this month. Not a lot to ask, Right?
I hope your foot heals well and you are back up dancing soon!
Just a few lines and back to crocheting. Making an afhghan for my son's girlfirend since she does so much for him.
Pray for him, he has a job interview today. I am really hoping it proves to be something.
Take care everyone.
