Rowing, rolling, sailing, docked, or run a ground. What's your boat doing?

Morning one and all. Fosamax Monday once again, so after taking the pill, waiting 30 minutes before I could have my latte, I decided to go ahead and eat first. BIG change for me. Maybe if I could get myself to eat first thing, then wait my 30 before drinking my latte or coffee, it would change things up for this poor confused bod of mine.

Going out to lunch today with a friend, then to a knitting class at the local library. I've knitted since I was 8, but haven't picked up a project for a couple of years now. Maybe this will get me motivated again. If I'm knitting I can't very well eat, now can I??

2/3 cheese and shaved turkey quesidilla on high fiber tortilla

latte

s-  skipping since I'm going out to lunch

L--looked at the menu on line. Think I'll go for either a roasted beet salad or maybe, if Cindy likes them, I'll split an order of mussels with her.

s-  applesauce and cottage cheese

d-  grilled flat iron steak, garlic green beans

s---:????

Hiya Susan,

Great idea looking up the menu before hand so as to plan what you can eat, at least it's great if the place has an online site. . .

B:  Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage/Egg Whites/Cheese on half high fiber english muffin

S:  Yogurt w/1 tbsn of granola

L:  Either Sausage and Peppers or Mock Pizza

S:  Apple

D:  Turkey Meatloaf w/veggies

S:  ?able

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Hey Linda,

Doesn't matter when you come on board, early or late in the day....just that you're here is all that matters!  Glad to see you, my sistah

I'm not a strong swimmer, so this boat has to keep floating along

Unfortunately, for the past few days this girl is paddling the barge in a circle, sort of like a one legged duck swimming in a pond.....

I can't seem to get my stuff together.  I have all the foods I need on hand, but I'm bored with what I'm eating, and so I head for the junk (translate:  Carbs.  Empty carbs!!)

The only thing that's keeping me even a little in line is this thread, so I thank you all.  I think part of the problem is the numbers.  I've managed to lose about 5 of the 10 lbs I've gained,  down to 150 pretty consistently, and that number does a "number" on my head.  I'd still like to lose the other 5, and then would be in a good place, both for my head and the fit of my clothes.  I was way too thin at 136 (hindsight is 20/20...), and I don't want to go there again.

I know I'm sabotaging it, but I can't seem to stop.  It's definitely been my pattern before WLS.  Why did I think it would change???  At least this time I caught it a lot quicker, not after I gained back a whole huge chunk of weight...

So, I'll keep coming here, and I'll post, and I'll admit when I screw up, and I'll get back on track.  You all are good for me.

Oh Candy, we're all good for each other!  I've decided I need to get out of the rut that I'm in and downloaded a book onto Gary's Nook that has some good looking recipes in it. It's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Life After WLS. Let's see what goodness I can find.

This has me thinking. Maybe we should start a thread once a week where we post our favorite WLS friendly recipes to share. I know Brenda was going to do a cookbook, but I'm not sure what happened. Now that I think of it, where is Brenda???

Anyway, I digress......I too see old habits coming back. Everyday is a battle to keep them at bay. We have to stay strong, if not for ourselves, but for each other!

Love and hugs

dont know if i have posted since i went back to work but as a nurse you really have a habit of grabbing anything to power you thru the rest of the day so i have had to equipt myself with the good Atkins bars with 1 and 2 grams of sugar. i also tak e to work with me small cups of yogurt and in a seperate baggy a scoop of protein powder and if i have time i mix the two together and that helps too. also use no sugar added apple sauce.

breakfast protein coffee

lunch  protein souffle....yummy

dont know what the last part of the day will be as we have support group at 6pm
and everyone goes out to eat afterwards ...i ususally get a bowl of cottage cheese or a fruit plate.  or sometimes chili...
