Happy Sunday all

Lessee..... hmmm...

OK... weighed in at weigh****chers Saturday, lost another 1.8 pounds... Works for me! ... so that is almost 10 pounds in 3 weeks... cool beans

I have discovered quite a few new-to-me foods... there is a lot of ZERO points foods! ... makes it really easy when there is this big ol list of stuff I can eat if I want and it doesn't count against my daily count.... even a larger list of foods that are only one point. I am pretty excited about the psychological aspect of all this... *I* am making the choices... what food, how much, when, etc... this seems to be working to change my whole way of looking at food... the one thing I have NEVER worked on before!

My back and knee are giving me fits... guess I will just walk for now... maybe once I shed a few more pounds I can do more....

It's 40 degrees here this morning and all the snow is gone (for now).  We are to have rain all day, then changing to snow tonite.

I am doing really well - made my bed this morning, fixed my own breakfast, and put on a pot of coffee.  Sis will be here until Wed. then I am on my own....she's going to come up one day a week to do laundry, clean, and maybe do some cooking.

See the surgeon tomorrow and get this big bulky cast and packing off.  My leg is itching terribly so that will be a relief.  Will be wearing a lovely big boot thingy for the last three weeks of non-weight bearing.

Am sleeping good and that helps a lot.  Only took a couple extra strength tylenol yesterday -- having twinges of pain on the right side of my foot -- that is where the nerve damage was, so thinking that is a really good thing.

Hugs and prayers for everyone on OFF - have a blessed day.

I found my kitchen!  Why is it that the kitchen always seems to be the room where everything gets dumped?

I spent the day yesterday making some soup and stew and packaging for the freezer so I have fewer excused for not eating right.  Lots of dishes to wash, of course, and while I was working in the kichen I started sorting papers and general clutter.  I have a nice wooden table in there!  Who would have known?

Today I have one last pile to sort, then will start working on getting tax material together, as my appointment is right after I come back from the cruise.  I also want to vaccuum and wash the basement stairs, as the cat hair is taking over.  The basement is where the litter boxes are, so the stairs get a lot of traffic.

Then, at 2, I go to work.

Aren't you all glad I post so seldom?  My life is SO exciting!

Everyone have a good day.

Candy

P.S.  Mary...Not sure where the men are.  I'm bored enough this winter to start looking again.  That's BORED!!!!!!

I have, and LOVE a Rival Seal-a-Meal. Use it all the time!  It's so hard to make anything like soups or stews, or anything for that matter, for one or two people. So, I just make my regular dishes, pack it up in the bags and freeze it. Meat sealed in these bags will keep for up to two years! I'm able to buy things on sale, or have meals ready to go if I work late. You can use them as boil in bags or microwave in them.

Now, if Rival will send me money for this advertisement, life would be good

Don't even mention taxes. I have the house stuff, my own business stuff, and Saint Bella to gather up. Talk about buried in paper  AAGHH

Yes, I must admit.  I am bored too.  I told my husband I am going to kick him out and trade him for TWO thirty year olds.   At this point, I think I can only get a 90 year old.. lol

Middle aged (and older) men only seem to want women 30+ years younger than they are.  We'd be perfect right now for that 90 year old.....  They'd think of us as "young stuff"!

Morning Mary, Friends!

Glad to hear your son is getting on with things without bitterness towards his dad, it is hard when parents have to do the tough love.  16 paws, oh my!  Funny how they learn to do their part in things.  Dillinger would come in the house and stand in the doorway waiting to be toweled off and now Roxie does the same thing. . .  I have a funny story to share on Roxie. . .

Yesterday, after cleaning the house, I went to take a shower, Roxie always pokes her head in the shower, which is funny enough, but yesterday, she came into the shower and stood there with me.  I could not stop laughing, Dillinger could have been on fire and would never tolerate such a thing, if the water was directed at him in any fashion other than his water bowl, he ran, I used to have to tie him in the tub when it was bathtime, which luckily was not too often, as Rotties generally don't get smelly like other dogs. . .  on a sad note, my roommate, whose dog lived with her Mom, brother and uncle, lost her dog yesterday, but she said coming home to Roxie made it a little more bearable. . .

Anyway, went to a "Slumber Party" last night, that was fun and there were lots of my WLS buddies there, some of which I don't get to see a lot of, there was lots of talk about weight gain as we get further away from our surgery and it seems to be that we are all on the upside, I am very distressed over this, but I am doing what I can to keep the gain at minimum, but I will say it is frustrating and luckily I remember reading that oftentimes there is a 10% bounce back, so while I am not happy, I know that I must remain vigilant, as what my one friend shared, this from her surgeon, is that our rerouted innards become super calorie absorbers over time, so it becomes a matter of choice and keeping up with what works, in other words, changing things permanently. ..  and here I thought my days of "dieting" were done. . .

Anyway, I am off to the gym, as this is one of the things I can do to keep the weight gain down. . .

Have a great day and wishing strength to those of you facing challenging life situations.

Jacki, sending out special thoughts to you my dear.

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen I had to laugh about Roxie and the shower. When Sherlock was with us he'd go missing.  We'd call him and finially find him in the walk in shower waiting for a bath. He was such a funny dog. Strange, but funny.
Baxter on the other hand?  Gary picks him up and gets into the shower with him. Baxter's feet spread out to hold onto the side of the doors to keep from going in. It's quite the sight. Needless to say, he doesn't get a bath too often.
