Rec'd in my contact messages. Quite disturbing if true
I noticed you can Tweet it, MySpace, Google and Facebook it.
Have you noticed that OH has added a share button to our posts. For those who don't get it now someone can post our topic on there face books photos and all.
I want this feature removed. How about you? If this upsets you too please copy and past and send it to everyone in your address book
I checked it out. I clicked the share button and sure enough on to face book it was going to post with all of our comments and photos. I hit cancel. I want it removed. I don't want people knowing what I post. I am someone different here. Now I am afraid to be myself. I am afraid as I write this that someone will post it on there facebook and a friend of a friend will see my post and photo.

They will take it off when enough people stop posting.

Here's OH's answer to this and it's not for me so I won't be posting anymore....sorry to say. If I want it on facebook I'll post it there, if I want it tweeted I'll tweet it. Not everything do I want my family on facebook knowing.

Darlene, I don't like it either. But what I didn't really think about is that there has always been the possibility of any posts being copied from here and pasted where-ever, it isn't just the new button.
I looked up an old acquaintance on the internet and found that Google immediately brought up her six year old OH information. What I put together was that she was checking into wls and then died suddenly. This is the internet legacy she leaves, a total lack of privacy.
That is why I don't use a real picture or name, and why I seldom post.
The button that mkes it easy to copy to facebook is just the tip of the iceberg. There is a bariatric group on fb that I won't join because I use fb under my real name. I don't want all the parts of my life to be transparent to casual passersby, let alone anyone with an axe to grind.
I know that there have been some pretty mean things done on another board that is now closed. The board closed because most of the users moved to facebook.
I hope that you reinvent yourself and stay here, you are a great resource.

Just as an FYI, if you google your name, you will find that because you are/have posted here on this site, it will come up. . . as I said this is an FYI. . . so privacy is really non existant, unless there is something I don't know about, perhaps if your profile is marked private?

yes we have known that from the time AMOS started. That's one of the reasons Margo and I tell people not to post addressess and phone numbers and such. I just think putt the share buttons has gone a bit to far.

I found out I could be googled a while ago so that's why I made my profile private only for friends. It helps... a little. I took my picture off when I saw the new feature on OH. So that's another reason I have not posted much.
I agree with you Darlene and all the others that don't like this "new" feature.
