What's New from Chehalis, Washington. . .
Had tp cheat a wee bit in order to start the thread, but didn't figure it would hurt too much. We've been on the west side of the state since Wednesday. Spent two nights with our son in Seattle and then headed south to our daughter's in Chehalis. Josh and Erin are on a weekend getaway in Portland and we're hanging out with Hannah and Clara. So far so good. We were worn out last night but had them in bed by 7:30 after a story. A bit of coughing going on but we were told not to run in therr with every noise. Sure hard to ignore them!
Winter on this side of the state means rain, rain, followed by. . . more rain! I can certainly understand joining a family gym especially in the winter. That or we'd need rain boots and rain coats and just need to get out there.
Hope we at least get a chance to get them outside for a bit today. They're still too small for the play areas at McDonalds. Too bad they don't have a toddler's play area.
Nothing much else going on. I'm counting the days until spring weather arrives. Can't remember when I've been much bluer than this winter. Trying to kick it but it keeps coming back and kicking me in the butt again!
Even when I am just in lurking mode I do come in and read. Sending positive thoughts to you all. May the sunshine in your corner of the world in more ways than one.

Showered and partially dressed for church. Nothing much going on today.....reading a good book. Made the crock pot recipe for the cabbage/turkey/rice and it's delicious....still trying to figure out why it
has such a "spicy" taste. I even checked the label from the canned tomatoes and they were just regular ones. Maybe I added too much black pepper - but it is delicious and I put two containers in the freezer for when I'm not able to cook next week.
Also made oatmeal cookies (use part whole wheat flour, splenda, and applesauce) but I have a hard time not eating them -- gave a dozen and a half to my DS and DIL plus they ate some while they were here, but my blood sugar was up this morning and so was the scales, so need to put them out of sight. Wanted to have something for my sister while she is staying with me.
My son is worried about me getting around after the surgery and I told him if nothing else I will use the wheel chair. He's also afraid I will be dissappointed if the surgery doesn't work and I told him, no, I am prepared for that possibility. It's all in God's hands and that gives me a lot of peace.
Was able to actually walk down the drive way yesterday as the snow and ice are all melted from it.....hope it stays that way.
Got a shock when my electric bill came -- used the electric fireplace a lot in December - whew was my bill high.....hopefully the gas bill won't be.
Gotta get some breakfast now -- probably c/m yogurt. Have a blessed day.

Done! Your Ticker:
Would you share your oatmeal cookie recipe please? Thanks
Have a nice day.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Gary had to go into work this morning for a few hours. I love that man, but golly, why can't he close a door instead of slamming it? So, I've been awake, cuddling with my Baxter buddy next to me until about 5:45. I'll get some laundry started here in a minute and then I'm going to get some Wii time in before Gary gets back.
It's football Sunday here at the Higgins House. Our San Diego Chargers are in the playoffs, so Jeff and Tess are joining us for a little watch party. Before the game starts Tess and I have to get Saint Bella inventoried to get ready for taxes. Not a lot on the shelves after the holidays, so it should be easy peasy.
Hope everyone has a great day. Love, hugs and good wishes to all!

Boy some of us have had our problems this week. I hope everyone stays heathy and sorry to hear about your aunt passing away. No matter when it comes it is always a shock.
Talked to my dad last night and he thinks he will be coming home on Monday. His tests came out ok. Which is good news. They do have to put him on different medicine. Hopefully that will stop his chest pains. I am happy he is ok.
Every night I try to find something like Trauma, or the ER programs on Discovery health. For the last few weeks, my lab gets all nervous and tries to climb in my lasp as I watch TV. He is horrified. I don't mind a lap dog, but he weighs a ton. I finally figured out what he was afraid of. It didn't dawn on me at first. He is scared of the beeping sounds of machines on the Trauma programs. lol. I couldn't believe it. So, we tested it out to be sure. We were watching the program the beeping went off and there he went, running to me and trying to crawl on my lap. Panting for his life. lol
Now I am worried, I like the shows, but don't know if I can watch them anymore..
Oh well, animals are really funny.
Went to church last night. Going to visit in laws today. I am not thrilled.
Hanging new drapes in my living room and dinning room. They look nice so far.
Well prayers to all of you, I know some of you really need them at this time.

I just called him and he says he might not be coming home tomorrow. I guess they have to regulate some of his meds. He won't see the do****il tomorrow. Oh well, I am just glad he is doing better.
Thanks for your concern
