OT: Bruce died
Some of you may remember me talking about my brother's friend, Bruce, for whom I dog-sat back in 2007 in Lubbock, Texas, while he went up to the Mayo Clinic for stem-cell transplants to treat his Hodgkins disease. The treatment didn't take, and this morning Bruce lost his battle with cancer and died. He was 57. He was married, no children other than his seven furry ones, seven dogs, all shelter rescues. He had a big heart for animals. Sweet guy. He was abused as a child, so he was reluctant to have children because he wanted to stop the cycle. So he poured his love into his dogs. My brother is devastated, of course, because Bruce was like a brother to him ... Gary doesn't make friends easily. Please keep him in your thoughts.
Eileen,
I am sorry for the loss of your brother, Gary's friend Bruce. I truly know what it is like to lose someone that has become like a close family member, hopefully, Gary will feel supported through this tough time. It took me awhile, but I eventually came out the other side and will pray that Gary does too!
Hugs, Laureen
