It's Tuesday, what's new with you?

Michael's home!!!!  YEAH - everything is better when I have my sweetheart at home.  He is more comfortable, I don't have to run up to the hospital, and my dog isn't "pouting"!!   He is doing so much better after a night in his own bed with no one waking him up in the middle of the night.

I'm working today and they are celebrating my birthday (which was 2 weeks ago!) - having a birthday on Dec. 28 is odd.  But it's fine - although turning 58 is something!!  Getting closer to that next decade.  The one where I can start thinking about retirement, hopefully.

Take care everyone and have good days!

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Good morning, Debbie, and everyone who follows!

Yipes, Debbie, I sure hope that the Sudafed continues to help!  I don't like it when I feel dizzy and light headed.  I especially feel helpless because then I don't feel good about driving and stuff.

I've been busy but nothing of interest to really mention, just the old SOSDD.

It's still really cold here.

Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

Been gone all morning because the power was out because the electric company was working on the transformer this morning. So stayed over at my friend Gayle's home across the road from 9 to 12:30 and we drank coffee and talked.

The good news, when I got home is ... drum roll please ... I got  a letter from the bankruptcy trustee and I'm out of bankruptcy. Although they're still doing the final audit, they did send me a check for $361. I start making my own mortgage payments Feb. 1. So that makes me think I'll get a full paycheck the next few weeks. Woohoo! It's been 4 1/2 long years.

Didn't sleep all that well last night; woke up a couple of times sweating and then couldn't get back to sleep. So I wound up getting up, listening to a CD and reading for awhile. Then having to get up early didn't help. Hope I can get a nap in this afternoon.

Well, that's all for me. No time to read much right now. Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Have a good day. I'll check back later.

First, I want to admit I know less than nothing about financial stuff, except my own finances.  BUT....If you're out of bankruptcy, and will be getting full paychecks for a while, would that help to even out the difference between the pay you've been getting with the unemployment?  I would assume (here I go again....!) that the unemployment is based on a full paycheck, even though you've actually not been receiving the whole thing for a number of years.  Seems like if you had to get laid off, it's much better that it happens after you're out of backruptcy?  Or maybe I'm way off base here.

I obviously have no clue, but I do hope that everything works out for you.  With your education and skills, there has to be a great job out there for you.

I'm swinging chickens for you.

Oh yeah, it's better that it happened AFTER bankruptcy, no doubt. And I would hope that the next three weeks I get a full paycheck, so that should help some, too. But then, I'm only working through Feb. 6. Then I get 10 weeks of severance (minus tax, health insurance premiums, etc.). The severance is a lump sum payment (no choice there) so I can start collecting unemployment right away (they're supposed to have an outplacement company in to help us to do all this ... of course it will probably be during day hours, so I'll have to make a special trip downtown for that).

I appreciate the compliment on my education and skills, but there aren't a lot of jobs for people of my skills right now ... newspapers and publications are going under or aren't hiring. But I'm sending my resumes out anyway, in hopes of finding something. I'm networking. I've got some ideas. And if all fails, I'll file for disability.
