Almost 1 month in and don't know if I'm losing enough
I'm from Dec. 16 to Jan. 10 into this and I don't know if i'm losing like I should. I've lost 28 lbs but 20 of them were in the first 2 weeks. I'm losing about 2 lbs per week. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Everyone talks about the melting of pounds. When does the melt start? Please help me understand.
Yes, it's normal. We all lose at different rates. I lost about the same as you in the first 3 weeks, then I lost NOTHING for 3 weeks. The weight loss started up again. I have stalls frequently where I don't see the scale change for a few days - but so far the weight loss starts back up again after a while. Be patient - you will see big changes. My pounds never melted by the way - I've never stepped on a scale and been more than a pound down. Usually I lose in 1/2 pound increments. I've read posts from people who get on the scale and they've lost 5 pounds overnight - it's never happened to me. Like I said, we all lose differently, but almost all of us do lose the weight in the end.
Relax.
There are a lot of factors that go into your weight loss this soon out. First of all, you have lost a great deal of weight in a month and your body needs time to catch up. How much you had to lose to begin with (more you weigh, faster it comes off in the beginning), and your age..
If you had around 100# to lose, you're considered a "light weight" and we lose slower than people who have more to lose. Yes, you age could be a factor, but honestly, you need to just give your body a chance to catch up. Really.
If you haven't taken your measurements, now would be a good time to do it. Often you will be losing inches eventhough the scale isn't moving much.
You'll be fine. Just do as you've been doing....following the rules!

Thank you all for your answers. I always worry about being a failure. Now my other doctor has changed my thryoid meds. to lower doses and that worries me too. I have to wait a month on the new dosage before they will even talk to me about changeing back. Sometimes I feel like I'm beating my head aganist a wall and the Docs in my life are putting up the walls.
Again thank you.
Again thank you.
