what's new Thursday
Hi Linda & OFFr Family!
Linda it is good to see you here, as it is to see a few of the "oldtimers" lately who have popped out of their busy lives to say hi.
Sorry you are still suffering with the vertigo, I had a friend who had a bout that lasted 6 months and they never figured it out, but then one day it was just gone, hopefully yours gets gone quickly. Seems we are all struggling with our weight these days, which is why staying connected on some level keeps us in the same boat of accountability (Susan's Barge is big enough to fit us all). . . Wishing you some peace within the chaos of life in 2010!
Well Roxie put a monkey wrench into my plan for this morning, when I got up to go potty at 4 a.m., after being awake and not wanting to get up because I knew to do so would me she would get up and want to go out too. . . lol, anyway, sure enough she did and by the time all was said and done, it was 4:30 and I wanted to go back to sleep, which I did, but then I did not get up at 5:30 to go to the gym, but instead stayed in bed until 6:15, so I've packed my workout clothes and it will be to the gym after work, but I also have my AA homegroup meeting tonight, so it will be a late night, not home before 9:45 and I had wanted to dye my hair, as Tony is coming down tomorrow evening right from work. . . oh well, not like he has not seen my tinsel touched hair before. . .
Well I'm at work and time to get busy with some filing and the kind of stuff I tend to procrastinate on. . .
You all have a wonderful day and prayers and good thoughts to those of you facing challenges, may you all have the strength to get through another day of living!
Hugs, Laureen

Hi Linda and my OFF family:
Wow, it's busy this morning. I usually do my shopping on Thursday but the snow is coming down heavy and I'm not driving in this until I have to tonight. So I just made my protein coffee and sat down at the computer instead. There's nothing I desperately need (some things I want) so I can want until tomorrow ... or early this morning if I decide to shop on the way home. I'd rather not shop at Meijer early in the morning, though, because a lot of times they're stocking shelves and there's not a lot of the stuff I need.
Sorry to hear about your mom. We are going through some issues with my mom ... she had an accident in December and we don't want her driving anymore. My brother has offered to move in with her, but she is resisting. My oldest brother Ed said he will do some "arm twisting" to get her to comply. I think that means he will tell her it's this or assisted living. He will take away her keys. She is not safe on the road. She can't hear well or steer well anymore and her reflexes are not good.
On another topic, I heard from the bankruptcy attorney yesterday (well, a voicemail from the paralegal at least) and ... tada! I am out of bankruptcy! But they're still taking money out of my check as they perform an audit and I'm not "officially" done until my employer gets a letter from the trustee. If I overpay, they'll repay me. I wi**** would just be done without overpaying because now there's more money being deducted from my paycheck for health insurance premiums and my FSA, so I get even less money in my paycheck ... I did that because last year I maxed out my FSA in July and I was in big trouble for the rest of year on drug copays (and some months I had to wait to buy my drugs because I didn't have money). So I hope they don't drag this out because I can't live on this little amount.
Linda, I understand about the weight gain. I too am struggling with that. Seems everytime I see food, I want to eat ... someone brought in a birthday cake last night and man, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I just had a small piece, but I really wanted more. And I know it was mostly boredom ... God, I was so bored at work last night. And tired ... and in pain ... and angry. So no, I wasn't hungry, just doing the emotional eating roller-coaster. But that doesn't mean I could stop.
Well, I hope everyone has a good day. Stay warm and safe. It's 22 degrees here, but we're used to it in Michigan.

Glad you, Linda and Jan found your way back to us. Always nice to see 'old' faces again.
I found a recipe for split pea soup done in the crockpot on allrecipes.com so I've got it going. Smells really good. For a change I followed the recipe exactly, well almost, I used more ham than it called for because I had about 3/4 of a cup more than I needed. Should be a nice hearty dinner tonight. May have to go pick up a couple of hard rolls to have with it. Whole grain of course.
Went to Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday to get a new divider for my silverware drawer. Came home with a nice new divider plus a new 10 pc set of Cuisinart hard anodized pots and pans. Gary really wanted them so I relented. OK , I wanted them too.
Well, time to get my body in gear and the dogs awalking.
Take care all.

Hi Linda and all my OFF friends,
I went to Target on lunch. They had a great sale, buy 10 weigh****chers meals for $1.89-$2.25 each and get a $5.00 Target Gift Card. So I paid about $1.50 a meal. Yahoo. I tried to buy a flat screen HDTV for the door prize for the dance I chair, but they didn't have anymore of the ones on sale in the weekly brochure. I'll try Walmart tomorrow. Both stores had them on sale for $179 dollars. I hope Wally World has one.
I have a job at work that I'm procrastinating on. It's complicated SW and I'm dragging my feet. I have until next Thursday to make some noticeable progress. This cold weather just wants to make me hibernate. I could lay my head on my desk right now and take a nap . . . if I didn't need my job.
Today I'm buying a piano bench for our piano from someone posting on an off-shoot of Freecycle. There you are allowed to charge a little something for your stuff. I'm getting it for $20. Right now we are using a Victorian piano stool and boy is that hard on the butt.
I'll pick it up after work.
Hey I just got something on that software to work. Eureka! Sorry I'm always so late.
Be safe and be healthy,
Bev
