Good Morning OFF'rs it is Tuesday
afternoon terri and OFF...
well its been a busy morning here for me...first off took bandit outside and poor baby froze his feet off so he had to walk on 3 feet....i told him it was cold and to hurry and go but did he listen? NO!!! so he still hasn't gone poo...grrrrr then i took off to the dentist and had the root canal finished up. have to go back in a month for it to have filling put on it. yippeee lol then i came home picked rick up and took him to cafe to help his mother....then i went to have my MRI done. OMG!!!! talk about small confined area!!! OMG!!!!! glad i lost the weight i did or i never would have fit in there!!!! took about 45 minutes worth of MRI rays. won't know anything til monday morning when i see the dr for the report and he looks at them. so now i am eating a hot bowl of my veggie beef soup and them i am going to walmart to look at yarn. need to keep my fingers busy and not with food!!! weather here is cold had some heavy falling snow and looks like it might?? be over with!!! i hope so because this apartment complex sure doesn't clean up very good and it is deep where we have to park!!! GRRRRRRR
read everyones posts and now do you think i can remember any of them to respond??? NO!!!! makes me so mad when this happens!!!! sighs
talked to my mom last night and she said her feet are swelling up again but not like before...she said she called the dr to let him know he he told her to go ASAP for a blood test...she went and heard nothing on it yet... i told her to call dr in the morning and see if he heard anything. she said she would. i hope she did call and there is nothing to worry about...you know how i get being so far away from her....worry wart that i am...lol
grabbed an old sweater to wear today...sitting in dentist office i noticed a stain on the sleeve...omg its the blood from spike when he was attacked!!!! will the hurt ever stop??!!! sighs....
well thats about it for my news today...know that i DID read all the posts and sorry that i forgot who posted what....i am thinking of you all and here is a big hug for all my OFF family!!! ((((((((OFF)))))))) love you all and remember to SMILE!!!!!
No, Terri, no one minds if you start the thread ... as George said, you are one of us and anyone can start it. Whoever gets here first. Sounds like your first week has gone well, so good for you.
I had an epiphany of sorts last night after my date. I decided what I want to do with my life, what my purpose is. I get so mad at insurance companies and doctors who will treat drug addicts, alcoholics and people trying to quit smoking without them having to prove themselves worthy of treatment, but obese people have to prove themselves worthy of having the surgery ... we have to show we'll be compliant, we have to show we've tried everything, we have to try another diet before we can get the surgery, and then, for some, if we lose, we're told, oh, you can lose weight on a diet, so you don't need the surgery. Why do we need to prove it? Obesity is a disease too, just as much as substance abuse. We have our rights, too. I feel I can be an advocate for the obese. I'm going to write my bariatric center and see if I can do something in the form of a newsletter or blog, or something like that ... if they'll pay, of course, because I can't do this for nothing. I feel very passionate about this, more than anything I have been in the past year. More than my career, that's for sure. Maybe this is my new purpose. What do you think?
Anyway, I had an appointment today with my ortho doc, and discussed my pain issues and he said it takes up to two years to heal from knee replacement revision, so hang in there ... everything looks good. He also said fibromyalgiacs sometimes don't heal properly, there's been studies that they always have some pain issues. So maybe this is the best it's going to get. Oh joy!
Well, dinner is ready so I'm off to eat. I'm really hungry. I'll catch up later. Have a good day.
