Sending up the white flag, throwing in the towel. It's time to ask for help
Well, Jani, hopefully this will help more people than just me.
A whole bag of popcorn??? I can, and do eat one of those mini bags sometimes, but at 6 months, I wonder if you should.
It depends on the density of what I'm eating to determine how much I can eat. Like a hearty veggie/beef soup or chili, I can do a cup, if it's grilled chicken breast, maybe 2 oz. Peanut butter and SF jelly sandwich on low cal bread....a whole sandwich. Make it with deli ham or turkey, then only 1/2.
Be afraid. Be VERY afraid......

Hey Jani,
in 1980 I had my stomach stapled. Everyone in the study group could eat tons of popcorn.
Bad, very bad and I do eat a lot of popcorn, I can pop a whole pan of it on the oven and eat the whole thing? Should I do that? NOPE. But I'm not perfect and I still eat a lot o popcorn if I make it. Not good for any of us to do that. Why do I do that? Maybe it makes me feel "normal" but I've put a stop to that ...but still sometimes I fail...but I'm not a failure...just human.
I've decided that from now on I'm going to put some in a soup bowl and limit myself. Popcorn is my idea of a snack, treat, cheat whatever. It's my favorite. In fact, the hospital in town, Munson, makes the best popcorn around. I'm having my cousin bring me a bag today since he volunteers there!
I'm very human!
I'm very human!
Hey sweet Susan!
I know just how you feel. I was in a size 10 pants at 2 years out. at 2-3 years out I gained about 10# and that was ok because I got down a bit too far. Now i am up to 30# and today started AGAIN. Except I forgot to exercise like I was going to do so have to do it in about an hour when dinner digests. Heading back to fitday too.
You have done everything right and I cannot imagine you would gain on 1400 calories a day! I know why I gained, the old life style came back into being. these size 14 pants and clothes are snugger then I like and this crap is going to stop now.
Never fear posting lady! NEVER.
Love ya!

Debbie, I guess we've found out where all of the veterans are.....seems we're all rowing down the same ol' river in the same boat. Let's not let it sink!!!!
I, too, was too thin at 120-125, but about 128 was great. Clothes fit fine, underwear was fine and NO visible panty lines! I never thought I'd ever dread getting dressed again, but here it is.
Seeing my Nut to have a MedGem test (to check your metabolic rate and determine how many calories you need a day) costs $100, but it's been 18 months since I had the last one done. It might be worth the money if for nothing else to have her give me some suggestions.

I also got too thin at my lowest, so I'm not mourning 148. I looked absolutely peaked!
However, I want to stay in these size 10's. (I threw out the 12's!)
I'd like to lose about 5 pounds, settle in at 160, and stay there. Ironically, this is the kind of conversation that used to drive me crazy when I was 100 pounds heavier. My girlfriends would agonize over 5- 10 pounds and I would think they were neurotic! Why worry about 5 pounds when I had to lose 100? Now I know the importance of those 5 pounds and I want to kick them to the curb.
I'll have to look into a MedGem test. How is it done?

The MedGem test is really interesting. You go in fasting, and it's a device like a breath-a-lizer. I'm not sure the mechanics behind it, but that's what it reminds me of. BTW, my husband is a probation officer, that's how I know what those look like....lol
Anyway, it measures your resting metobolic rate, then they factor in your activity level, etc to determine how many calories a day you need. It was dead on accurate for 18 months, I didn't vary by more than a pound one way or another. Now I don't know where I am.
Yes, I'm even worried my doctor will think I'm anorexic if I bring this up to him. But, he knows me pretty well, so I hope he'll understand.
Yeah....I only have one size of clothes in my closet. That's one reason I'm freaking. No $$ to buy more!
