Hi Judy, thanks for responding. Twenty -eight hits to this post, and 7 responses. Most of them Karen and I talking about jerky. Yeah, I'm not feeling the "love".

Try to find some where else to go on your break where you can avoid those tempting goodies....or should we call them baddies? Now that the holidays are over, there will be less of that sort of stuff around the salon. It's been in every nook and cranny of the place. Hard to avoid!

Take care,

Hugs

Susan

yeah i know what you mean....sad isn't it?? sighs....

we bought a nesco brand dehydrator at sears and it was on sale for $59.99 i think $20 off regular price?? it has a temperture control knob on it so it is a good one. haven't tried it yet but will soon!!! jerky is one thing rick loves to eat and now so do i!!!

i usually walk around the store on my breaks and lunch but with my hips and knee hurting i don't do it as much anymore....i don't know why they can't put some fruit or veggies in the break room instead of all the fat foods!!! i told them about that not being a good thing for us to eat every day but did they listen??? NOPE!!! so i will stay out of the break room except to punch in and out for work. i can always go to the deli and get me a couple slices of meat and cheese for my protein to snack on!!! :-)

have a good day susan and i am here for you!!!

hugs

ps noticed my signature with horse is back again!!! wooohooo

Susan,

I'm glad you posted.  It's time like this, you really NEED to post and express yourself.  This is the most supportive forum and we are all here for you.  While I'm almost 5 months into my journey, I learn so much from everyone.  It's the support that makes us successful.

I'm glad you are so determined and REFUSE to be a statistic!  I am totally confident that you will do what is necessary to maintain all of your hard work.

So glad you're back ((((hugs))))

Thank you Debbie.

Ahhhhh the wonderful days of "5 months out"!!!  LOL  I used to feel so guilty then, when all I had to do was wake up and I'd lost another pound. I guess that's how I want it to be now. Silly me!

Thanks for your positive thoughts.

Hugs

Susan,

You're welcome.  There is so much to be learned from your experiences and success.  I understand that your appetite does return and that I have the hardest part yet to come.....but I'm ready and know I will do what I have to do to be successful.  Staying away from carbs and junk is a habit that I hope I do not go back to.  Otherwise, I'm going to be setting myself up for failure.

Keep on posting because we can not only give you the support you need, but you would be helping others like myselfgain more insight for what is in the future and how to form and keep those healthy eating habits now while our tool is giving us the most success!

Dear Wonderful Susan,
Never ever would I say "I told you so".
I'm going on my 3rd year and believe me it's hard, darn hard to keep the weight off.

Even with embracing lifestyle change, exercise and moderation...well dang, it's the holidays and my therapist said even thin people gain an average of 6-10 pounds at this time.
She is specialize in eating disorders and I so connect with her. She "gets me".

So stop beating yourself up and just continue on with life. Now for those panties getting tight...What are you eating and how much? Are you drinking all your water?
So what's your exercise program?

Am I perfect? NOPE. That's why I exercise. We all know what we need to do. We just need to support each other. We are hardest on ourselves.

Interesting that I went to my support group on Saturday. Most everyone gained except for the newbies. Most of us were "train wrecks" and we admitted it. We talked about emotional eating and normal eating...guess what??? Most of us were/are now "normal eaters".

You are normal...Congrats!!
Yes Susan, I also gained 11 pounds and it's coming off right now.

Today it's either water aerobics or spin class. The gym will be crazy with all the newbies who joined for their annual New Years Resolutions.

So let's be accountable to each other. Post what you eat every day to me and your exercise.

What you don't want to do is go out and buy new panties a size bigger. You can get those 10 pounds off, it will come off slower but you can do it. I know you can! Posting was the hard part Susan. Let's all do this for 2010!

Hey there,

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it so much!

I track everything I eat on Fitday, still do after all this time. Yes, I get all my fluids in, and more. I use my 20 oz bottles of water as an incentive. Like if I want a cup of decaf in the evening, I can only have one if I have had all of my water.

Gary bought me a Wii for Christmas and I just finished 40 min of tennis and 20 of boxing. I had a ruptured Achilles tendon, so I have to be careful what type of exercise I do. Since I work on my feet, I can't go messing up the ankle! Anyway, the Wii was really fun today, and I can see myself using it.

Oh no...there will be NO big girl panties coming into this house...lol

Good for you Susan..."No Big Girl Panties...EVER"!!!

If anything, you might want to consider upping your calories but you know your body better than any one else.

How exciting to get a Wii for Christmas. I want one!!!
Maybe that will be my birthday gift to myself in February.

YOU are doing everything right. The weight will come off. You are loved and appreciated.

We got the Wii for Christmas too.  I can not get the knack of the boxing against someone.  I have problems dodging punches.  I do enjoy the training in boxing where you have to knock the bags off the chains.  Arms are tired after that.  And the heartbeat gets up.

We still have to hook up the Wii Fit.  I have it, but have not even tried to hook it up.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

I'll give that one a try. I'm still trying to figure out how to get to all the different games and work the controllers and, and, and,

Still thinking I'll go get the Wii Fit Plus. What could it hurt?

Susan
