OT - Need parenting advice
If your son wants to smoke pot... he will smoke it. If you take his $$ he will find another way to pay for it. Unfortunately...
The only advice I can give is to seek help from professionals who handle this type of situation. I'm sure there are places that will help with advice without you needing to identify your son.
As a parent I know what it is like to voice concern to the kid and it fall on deaf ears.... Now as they are parents of teens its a whole different story.....
Get help for yourself to keep the dread and worry at bay.....

Been there done this...my son is 23. Still smokes pot and cigarettes. He started when he was about 12...I refused to ever give him money for either. Now he has to use his own money. He still lives with me...the rule is...not ever in my house..not EVER in my car and NEVER EVER even on my property. He's the same way...he won't get caught. I told him fine...but the day you do...DON"T Call me cause I WILL NOT bail you out NOR will I pay for a lawyer.
They don't call it TOUGH love for nothing. My fear..I'm a teacher...he gets arrested and its on my land..I LOSE MY JOB AND MY LICENSE TO TEACH...his problem anymore not mine.
I agree...take away his allowance...if he wants to continue smoking..let him get a job and support his own habit!!!!!
Good luck sweetie...we're here if you need more help

Hi,
just wanted to let you know that I've been where you are. My daughter is 21 and lives with us. We had a similar situation happen with us. She has a job so there's no possibility of cutting off her funds. We did, however, tell her that if we caught her again she would have to move out immediately. We talked to her about what she was doing to her body and the danger she was putting us all in by having pot and paraphanalia in the house. As long as she lives with us she has to take "pee" tests. No, it's not a guarantee and there's no way we can make her stop but at least this way we set up rules for our own home. It's scary and sad. My daughter was just experimenting around and hasn't tested positive since we caught her so ... hoping she's not savvy enough to beat the tests yet... best wishes! Everyone came up with really great advice and I can't add to it, just wanted to let you know you're not alone.
