Guess What Everyone!!!! We made it to Tuesday!!!!
Carla and OFF friends,
I haven't posted on this thread in several days. Our daughter has been in from New York and other than working, I've been wanting to spend the rest of the time with her. I love her visits.
We had a great Christmas, DH gave me the Cuisinart ice cream maker....I made my first batch of ice cream (my own concoction) and I added too much English Toffee syrup, although it's still tasty, but next time I'll definitely add less.
It looks like a lot of new people here. That's so cool.
Laureen - congrats on your new addition, Roxie. Love your new avitar.
Happy New Year!
Debbie
Carla, happy you are starting your new job soon. Jacki, Happy Anniversary.
We got back at 6:00 p.m. last night. We had a wonderful Christmas with the Grands with only a minor peev with DIL. Explain tomorrow. Managed to get along fine with the In-Laws too. The kids were spectacular. I'm going to try to attach a picture. Wish me luck.
Now it's back to losing the weight I've put on this fall and winter so far. I have to up my exercise. My eating is not that bad but I am not moving!
Although I did get a lot of exercise with the grands this weekend. I wish they lived close.

I forgot to take a picture of the puppet theater but son has promised to take one and send it. All gifts were a big hit with the grands.
I'm glad everyone had a nice holiday.
Happy New Year,
Bev
I absolutely love being a grandparent. They live 260 miles away so it takes about 5 1/2 hours to get there. We usually stop half way for lunch so it's about 6 hours then. They live in the Adirondack National Park near Saranac Lake/Lake Placid, NY. I miss them so much. We usually get to see them about four times a year.
They are six, four, two and a half and 4 months. They always seem to be at a great stage. Tess is the happiest baby on earth. She smiles for anyone and laughs out loud. Sadie Jane is starting sentences so we can have a conversation with her. Morgan blurts out everything that comes into his head and at four - that can be quite comical. Like we were in a restaurant having dinner and he yells across the table, "Daddy, remember when you showed us where poop goes?" This came about because we were talking about one of their fish dying and their burial at sea in the toilet. My son had explained everything along with a trip to the basement to see the pipe going outside.
Wyatt, in first grade, is smart as a whip. I helped him with his spelling words and I can't believe how far along he is with his reading. They teach them so much now.
The best things, though, are the hugs, kisses and "Grandma, I love you".
How many grands do you have? Are they all close?
Bev
Bev,
Awww, they sound so adorable, Bev! I love children so much.
We have two grandchildren, Kirsten will be 11 in February, and Richie just turned 7. I love them so much and really enjoy spending time with them. I love the hugs, the laughs, and the words I love you -- melts my heart every time. They live about 25 minutes away, so we do get to see them often. Kirsten just spent the night with us the day after Christmas and I love our sleepover parties.
Happy New Year!
Debbie
