MERRY CHRISTMAS Whats New ?
Good Morning, All
Happy Birthday, Mary! Thanks for starting the thread.
I took yesterday and Sunday off work, and my older son is home for the weekend. The younger one, his wife and my grandson couldn't make it home this year due to a new job and no extra time off. We hooked up gmail video, and will soon be watching Sean open gifts.
I'm not really fond of the holidays, and less so this year. I'm about as non-traditional as you can get. Yesterday morning I painted the primer in the laundry room that's being remodeled, and today when my son goes to his Dad's, I'll paint the white on the ceiling. I'm also going to visit the neighbors for a few hours this afternoon, then will come home and relax and read.
This will only be the second Christmas Day in about 15 years that I haven't worked. Last year was because my son had been really ill and i wanted to spend as much time with him as I could. This year I just decided it was someone else's turn to work for a change. Next year I may be retired. I'm not planning that far ahead.
Gifts will be opened in front of the computer in a few minutes so we can all be together. I made a turkey yesterday, so leftovers are the order of the day.
See, like I said, very non traditional.
I talked to Janet yesterday, and will try to connect with her sometime today as well. We've got some planning to do!
I hope everyone has the Christmas of their dreams. With friends, or family, or even alone, if that's your wish.
Merry Christmas, my OFF Family!

Hello!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday.
It's a quiet, rainy day here. I have no family or friends visiting but will hosting some family New Years week. Can't wait for them to get here.....haven't seen them in a year!
We got the Wii console (I suspect the Wii Fit Plus is coming at New Years) and have already gotten pretty good at playing virtual tennis.
I also got 2 beautiful dresses from Matthew....size 6, and a cute fleece sweat suit! Can't wait to go out somewhere so I can wear the dresses.
Not sure what we will do for dinner tonight (we went out yesterday).....guess I should figure it out so I can defrost some meat or fish...
Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas! Our Christmas celebrations are over.... we leave for San Diego tomorrow morning. My daughter and husband got me a Kindle for Christmas and I just downloaded my first book! I can't wait to try it out! Today will be a day of leftovers and a visit to a friend's house later in the day. I am putting away Christmas and packing also. Happy Birthday Mary! I'm 55 and a half- it's really not so bad! :)

Merry Christmas, you crazy OFF'rs!!!
Hope you had a fun-filled and joyous day. If you didn't, I hope tomorrow gets here quickly.
Holidays are always a source of stress for me. I dread every one of them. Somehow it always turns out okay.
My husband had a stroke the morning after Christmas i***** I guess I just dread it now for some reason. He hasn't been replaced...the kids are grown and mostly 'gone'... grandkids are a source of joy....but that's another story. I went to one son's this morning and had breakfast..... it was 12:30 before the other showed up... by that time I had hit three shots of Sheridan...:) Lunch was great... spiral ham, cabbage casserole, corn casserole, and mashed potatoes... and the two flutes of wine (mixed with Fresca) were nice... so I came home, made a blackberry cobbler and took a nap. Now it's time to put the breakfast casserole in the crockpot and get it ready for tomorrow's family Christmas.
I couldn't find everything I was looking for in the way of movies for my gifts... so.... what the heck... and I've everything sitting in sacks with no names... and have to be at my sisters 45 miles away about 8 a.m. in the morning.
Work Monday will be a welcome relief....
Hope all got something in their stockings besides a hole in the toe.

Naw, just a hole in the toe. Woke up with a headache this morning, didn't go away til after 3 p.m. Had a Stouffers frozen dinner for lunch, wanted a salad with it but my greens were wilted, so I threw them out. Took a nap after lunch, got rid of my headache with the nap and some good drugs. Came into work. Employer did nothing for us for the holidays at all (although for Thanksgiving, they fed the workers). Lots of people (including me) brought in goodies or munchies.
Otherwise, it's been a forgettable day. Can't wait to go home, have a cup of spiced wine and go to bed.
