He became extremely huge, though. And reclusive. We seldom saw him ... he spent most of his life in Christopher's room.

Aloha Melissa from your Hawaiian sister in OFF...

I had to respond to your puppy name question. Seven years ago I found a teeny tiny black kitten at the Maui Humane Society....not even 3 weeks old who was thrown out of car into a pineapple field. The let me take him home on Christmas eve so I named him St. Nicholas (Nicki for short). Many didn't think he'd live he was so small and weak......now...I call him my SUMO KITTY! Big, black, sweet and lovable!

Have fun!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Melissa,

That's wonderful!  Enjoy the puppy. . .  is it a boy or girl?  While Roxie is not "technically" a puppy, she reminds me of one and they are such a joy, but I won't have to endure the potty training for quite as long (she is getting used to a new environment) and thankfully, no chewing troubles (lol). . .  ENJOY!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Good morning all.  Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.

Went to Penny's house and ate sandwiches.  I made a turkey for us the night before, so we all had turkey sandwiches.  We opened our gifts at 1PM or so.  Then just sat around and yapped for an hour or so.  Then went to church at 4PM.  My daughter's church is different sometimes.  This was one of the times.  We had the Lord's Supper.  But it wasn't served to us.  Each family had to go to the table as a family, with the head of the family serving everyone and leading the family in prayer.  That was all well and good, but I sure missed the pastor quoting Bible passages explaining why we do what we do.  Call me old fashioned.  At least it was not as bad as the one I went to in Italy.  Our Lord's Supper there the one time was Hershey bars and Coca Cola.  That was the last time I went to that church.

Talked to my sister yesterday.  My brother saved a family's lives Wednesday.  He was going down the road and saw white smoke coming from a house.  He slammed on the brakes, whipped a U-turn, then went through a red light.  Jumped out his truck, jumped a fence ( he is 6'4" and 330 lbs, so no easy task).  He pounded on the door to wake the family.  The guy answered the door ticked off.  While my brother was pounding on the door, he was dialing 911.  The Fire Department arrived in less than 5 minutes.  It ended up the fire was in the garage, which is attached to the house.  My brother told the guy three times not to open the door, he would be feeding the fire.  The guy said you don't understand, my cars are in there.  So he opened the door and was greeted by flames coming at him.  My brother got them all out the house as the FD arrived.  Then my brother left.  He did not want any attention like he had the last two times he was a hero.

Once he saved a cop who was being beat up by two hoodlums.  My brother beat the crap out of the hoods.  The other time a car was going the wrong direction down an eight lane divided highway.  He whipped a U-turn and proceeded in the wrong direction himself to herd her off the road.  He was actually interviewed on TV for that one.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Wow George, how proud you must be of your brother. But then, I'm sure his traits run in the family

We had rain and freezing rain. I got home before the worst hit ... at least last night. I would prefer it didn't snow or rfreezing rain because I have to drive in it. (Regular rain is fine.)

You should be proud of your brother, being such a hero.
