What's New - FRIDAY!!!!!!

Not so good morning all. Came in to work four hours late today.  Grandpa duty.  Ava's class had their Christmas show.  Traveled 90 minutes (rush hour traffic) to see a 30 minute show.

Plus, I was supposed to be at a Texas Rangers Autograph party.  My favorite player was there, Chris Davis.  There were 4 other Rangers on the major league roster there (Ian Kinsler, Scott Feldman, Tommy Hunter, and Derek Holland).  To get the autographs, you had to buy a book (it was actually a book release gathering).  I bought two books and had my son pick them up.  Sent him with pictures, bats, and balls to get autographed.

My son struck up a conversation with Chris Davis.  Now, Chris is going to come out to my grandson's little league practice to give some batting tips.  So community oriented.

Now for the bad part of my day.  We are not going to be able to keep Macon.  This last 10 days or so, he has decided it is alright to pee in the house.  We let him out for 20 minutes or so.  He comes in, lays down for about 30 minutes, gets up and pees right in front of us.  Can't handle that.  Fortunately, the Greyhound Unlimited folks told us there will be no problem with them taking him back.  I feel so bad, and so does Mary, but I am terrible at training a dog.  Give me one that is trained already (like our previous 3).

So, when I get  home from work this morning, I will put a turkey in the roaster for my office Christmas party tonight, then load him in the car and deliver him.  Then back home to nap.

Check with you later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Oh George...I'm so sorry about Macon.  I love dogs..but live in a trailer.  Won't have one cause its such a small space and I'm away too much.  I don't think its fair for an animal to have to deal with that.  So I have cats...they are persnickety and can take care of themselves.
I hope in the future you will be able to get another dog.

I got the results of my ultra sound yesterday. I have several nodules on my thyroid and...my parathyroid (at least one of them) needs to be removed.  So the order for surgery has been faxed...and I called yesterday to make sure that they got the results of the US.  Today I may have blood work to check the thyroid levels.  We'll see what happens.  Seems like finally...!!!!! they will be able to determine what keeps causing my abdominal pain.  ITs been a long time coming.

Blessings to all... (((HUGS))) and prayers to those who need them.
I'm off to get ready for school...don't want to go today..its really cold here....4 degress right now!!!!!!

Yikes...guess I'll need to really layer up today.

  Smiles to everyone..

Mary decided last night to just stick with Pride for a while.  Let him be the king of the castle.

Thank you for your prayers and support Margo!!!  There is a reason for all of this and hopefully it will be taken care of in the next 2 weeks or so.

 Have a great week end.

Did the doctor think that the thyroid nodules could cause the abdominal pain?  Hope it all gets worked out for you, none of this sounds like any fun!  Cassie

Cassie,
My doctor thinks that the abdominal pain is due to high calcium in my blood and urine...I have hyperparathyroidism..that seems to be causing all kinds of problems.  The ultra sound was to check my thyroid because she felt a node.  Well...now we are checking to see if the thyroid is working properly because it seems the thyroid can be working improperly if a patient also has hyperparathyroidism.  So the surgery will be to remove whichever of the 4 parathyroids are not working, but also possibly to remove part or all of the thyroid.  Time will tell...I just can't wait to feel "well" again.

  Thanks for your concern.

Oh goodness!  You're definitely in my thoughts & prayers to get it all straightened out.  Thyroid controls hormones and all kinds of stuff so I know the body can get messed up if the thyroid is wonky!

George,

That's exactly why I don't have a man around my house.  You keep'em for 10 days and they decide it's all right to go out and then come in lay on the couch and pith in your poth toathties... Trouble is, no one ever wants them back and I don't want one that's not trained either.

Have a good day.

Morning George, Marcy and Janet......everyone is soooo busy these days, it's a shame we get so caught up in the frenzy and kinda ignore those who should mean the most to us....

I'm with you Janet -- a man better be very well trained before he comes to live with me!   LOL   Been there - done that.

I won't bore you all my own busyness, so will just say I do appreciate all of you and wish for you and yours the very nicest Christmas and all the best for the New Year 2010.  Thanks to all who sent cards -- it's wonderful to be remembered in a special way.

Have a fantastic Friday,
Hugs,
Pat r.
