Just found y'all too!
Hi and welcome to what, to me, is one of two of the best boards on here for support, information and caring individuals (PA forum is the other one). . . look forward to learning more about you and your journey. . . I'm 54 and a little over 2 years out, about 12 lbs from my personal goal and living life better than when I was in my 20s and 30s!
Take care, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Hi and welcome!!! Like you, I'm so happy to find this forum too. The others are usually nice but it's really cool to connect with so many other nice Boomers! It's good to hang with people my age. :) This *is* a very friendly forum and I think you'll like it here. I think George mentioned the daily post? Look forward to "seeing" you there!
I'm 54, soon to be 55. My DH and I have been married 7-1/2 years. Both of us were previously widowed and met on Match.com! He has two daughters from his first marriage, Michele (33) and Linda (28). I am nana to 5, soon-to-be 6: Brandon, 15, Ryan, 13, Taylor, 9 and Nikolas, 5, are Michele's kids and they all live in TN. My little guy is Tomas, 5 and is Linda's son. She is due to have another baby in July.
I have 3 kids from my previous marriage to Rich and all 3 still live with us: Bill, 22, Heidi, 21 and Kristin, 17. Bill and Heidi are both in college and Kristin's going to graduate high school in June.
My DH Ted and I had the same WLS five months apart. He had a duodenal switch in November 2008 and I had mine in April. Between us, we've lost two people (LOL)--about 300 lbs.
We have six cats and a dog.
I like to walk, read, blog, and write.
Look forward to seeing you again!

Hi welcome to the forum,
I am Carla and I am almost 8 years out. I have lost about 150 pounds but have a 20 pound regain from Thyroid cancer that is resolved. I havent worked for a year and am finally going back to work this week. I got a job at the hospital doing registration in the emergency room. I have done that kind of work for 25 years. I also am a cosmetologist. I got my liscense 3 years ago.
I am married to Carl and we have a 28 yr old daughter who just got engaged.
We moved down to Florida about 2 and 1/2 years ago from Colorado. I got tired of the cold and snow after living in it for 24 years. But I grew up in snow and cold in Michigan and Illinois.
I travel a lot mostly to Denver and Chicago.
Again welcome,
Carla
