Hi Margo,
Yes I started the job today. Sat in orientation for 9 hgours straight with only about a 10 minute lunch break!!!!! Got home gathered my stuff to make Potato Latkes for Chanukkah, Made 45 of them froze them for Friday and I have to make 45 more!!!!! I do that tomorow as I wont be in the schedule till Monday. So another week of unemployment comming my way!!!!!
I got home around 130pm yester. The plane was an hour and a half late int aking off and almost missed my connection in ATlanta. I had about 8 minutes to make the next plane!!!! I flew from Concourse a to Concourse B. I was the last one to board the plane. I thought they were going to reroute me to Ft Lauderdale if I missed my connection and Carl would of had to drive 4 hours to come and get me!!!!! Thank god someone was looking after me.
My daughters ring is more beautiful than the picture she sent me. She even let me try it on!!!!!
I had a great day on Friday I had to figure out on how to get the window up on my daughters car. I went to pay for parking at the hospital when I was visiting Carls sister. The window jumped the tract and I had to manually pull it up and it would go up Can I say Cold!!!!! it was 26 degrees in Chicago. It stuffed with with plastic bags. Called Geico and they called safelite to come and fix it as it was under warrenty cause of the break in in February. They came on SAturday and put iin the new window and told us not to roll the window down cause the regulator had to be relaced.
The came around 430 and we had to be somewhere for Chanukkah at 5 needless to say we didnt get there till 545. Oh Well Stuff happenes. After the party we went to my sisters house and celebrated Luz birthday.
Came back to my daughters house at midnight she cut my hair and we were up by 4 so she can take me to the airport!!!!
That is my story and Im sticking to it.

Good morning Ruth and OFF friends,

I'm not feeling real great this morning....sore throat, congested, cough, but I have a routine FU with my PCP this morning, so hopefully she'll give me some antibiotics to knock it out.  I am just going to lay low today since I'm feeling punky and took off work

Not much new going on.  Still need to finish up Christmas shopping, but everything I do have is all wrapped and under the tree.

Have a great Monday everyone.

Debbie

Morning everyone!

I am kind of upset with my inlaws.  My brother in laws  wife doesn't speak to us and believe it or not I don't know why.  My mother in law thinks it is over her money.   Which she doesn't have much and I never think about such things anyway.  She doesn't want to share I guess.   Well, anyway.  My mother in law said she would have my family over Christmas Day because they always got to spend it with the brother and his wife and we had to come the next day after Christmas.  This has been going on for years.  So I planned it that way.  We always spend Christmas eve at home and the kids have friends stopping by through the night.  Like an open house.   My father in law called and asked if we could come Christmas Eve instead and my husband told him no we had plans.  I guess they told the sister inlaw and she didn't like it so they chose to get us to switch again.  I know this sounds petty.  But it makes my husband feel like he is the black sheep of the family.  We also spend every other Sunday playing cards with them so they are not alone for too long.    The other sister inlaw never goes over there and has made nasty comments to them.  I have not.

Well anyway that is my story for the day.  I guess I am hurt that they are doing this but it is Christmas and I will surrender and go the day after Christmas.  It is just that my mother inlaw kept saying it wasn't fair and we were coming Christmas Day.  If they don't want us that day, then come out and tell the truth.  My kids feel like they are second class to my brother in laws kids now.

I will have a merry christmas no matter what.  I refuse to let that B**** ruin ir for me.

Sorry About this letter, I need to vent to someone.  Since you are all good friends You get to hear it.  Lucky you!

Hope everyone has a nice day and smile at least once today.

Mary,
Sorry about the family drama.  This is a good place to vent and release it.  I'm finding for myself that if I type it up, post it here I'm kind of putting it out to the universe and some how feel a little better.  Hope you feel a little better too.

I know it stinks feel like second class citizens.  My sisters in-laws did that to her and her kids for years....still does and the sad thing is the kids feel it.  One of them finally spoke up and said something to her grandparents....they were shocked but I'm not sure they totally "got it".

ANYHOW, I hope you enjoy all the days and that one day soon your in-laws wake up and come to their senses.

Have a great day!
Ruth

Hi Ruth and thanks for your comment.

Yes, I do feel good about writing it here.  It is sometimes so much easier to put your feelings out there and have someone else tell you things are going to be ok.  I guess the heck with them and what they do.  I just felt bad for my kids.  They didn't feel as important as the other grandchildren.   We have a really nice Christmas Eve together and that makes good memories.

Thanks for posting, I appreciate your thoughts

That's what friends are for Mary. Vent away.  I feel sad for you, but hang in there.  Remember the reason for the season and put it first.  Show your kids what love is about.

Try to make it more special for your kids.  Maybe you can explain that they are so special, that you don't want to share them on Christmas Day.  You want them to yourself.  The grandparents can share the joy the day after.  Just a thought.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
