Good morning Eileen and everyone.....

Nothing much happening here....COLD like everywhere else.....bbbrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I slept most all day yesterday. I had so much Fibromyalgia and Arthritis pain...I took pain medication just to get through it. I feel much better today.

I dread going out in the cold but I need vitamins. I swear I had more but I guess not. It is 8 degrees now and I know I will be a icicle by the time I get back home.

I am going to try my best to get working on those Christmas Cards today....they are just sitting on the table waiting for me.....

Prayers to those in need....especially Annette and Jacki.

I wish you all a wonderful day!!!!!!!

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Connie:

I know what  you mean about the fibromyalgia ... I have been in a lot of pain this week, too. It's the cold and the storms. Don't you feel it worse when the weather kicks up? I'm a lot worse in the winter too, when it's colder.

Glad you are feeling better. I'm still in some pain today ... a bit of a  headache and my back hurts.

Eileen....some people don't know how debilitating this Fibromyalgia can be. I have been in bed for the better part of two days. Sorry you are in so much pain too.

Yes...when the weather changes drastically and when the temp are so cold I suffer a lot more.  I HATE winter!!!!!!

The Seattle area has had unusually cold weather lately.  We have been hovering around freezing and that is not fun.  With the moist air it feels much colder than the dry side of the state.  It is suppose to warm up some but still... no snow so far.

Much going on here.  My nephew has been here the past 10 days.  He had a cornea transplant over a week ago and has been doing his recoup here.  It has been fun having him here.

We have had the stress of dealing with my older sister's situation while she is in a convelesent home.  Her mind is clearing up very well but her body is still not doing well.  She can't walk again.

Mom's insurance policy is running out and while trying to get the new one in place they took out premiums they shouldn't have.  Drained her savings & checking,  right before Christmas no less.  She is doubly stressed.

Plans for the holiday season are coming along very well.  Nothing major, the usual get together and gift giving.  I have plenty of canned goodies to share.  Not much if any baking will be going on this year.  Plenty of sewing going on though.  I've had several requests for aprons.  My granddaughter wants a pink and black one.  Something cute and kinda sexy.. hmmmm  I told her "grammas don't do sexy for unmarried granddaughters but I will do perky"  LOL

Well enough for now... hope all of you are enjoying the holiday season....

Things are going along pretty well.  Michael's numbers came up on his kidney functioning, so he may be able to postpone his first dialysis until Dec. 28 (what it was originally scheduled for), which would really help.  His port (A/V fistula) is not ready, so they would have to give him a temporary port, which is another procedure, when he just had this one implanted a couple weeks ago.  He had been sick with a stomach bug and was dehydrated, which may have pushed his kidney number in the wrong direction.  So he will probably be discharged today!  Yay - I'll have my sweetie back home!

The dog doesn't take well to Michael's absence in the house.  He mopes around and I try to give him extra attention and love, but I'm not Michael!  LOL

Work is going fine - but I'm so glad it's Friday!  The closer I get to 60, the more I want to retire before 66.  We'll have t see what's feasible financially.  Meanwhile, I have a good job in these days where any job is a blessing.  That and the benefits - including good health care insurance, makes me feel very fortunate.

Have good days and a good weekend everyone!
Mary

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Good Afternoon everyone....I was out thisd morning and it got up to [by my car's thermometer] 15 degrees....and with the sunshine it was feeling pretty nice....is that sick or what?....the roads are really bumpy as they can not put down salt because it has to be 20 degrees or higher for at least 4 hours and we can't seem to make that.

I went to a sleep study doc today at another doc's request. You know,  it is very nice to be an interesting person....BUT NOT TO YOUR DOCTOR!...she said " You are a very intriguing person, I am just not sure how to deal with your disorder. I think we need more information. " She said I definitely have a Panic Disorder..but not sure what to do with the injuries I acquire from passing out.....they are going to not give me oxygen one night and try to watch me sleep....and see if they can tell anything about my disorder by my sleep patterns...but that is in January.

Went to a holiday party last evening , nice small party of friends that I granduated from high school with....only 6 couples so we laughed and had a good time.

Tonight it is a party with my husband's graduating classmates for dinner, and then we are going to some friends' home for cards.  I love to play cards. I am smuggling in doggie treats for their little shishu...she is so cute.....her Mommy will have a fit...but maybe I will bring her some flowers like my beautiful poinsetta....so she won't holler too much.

Tomorrow night it is a night out for 10 couples at a local restaurant for a holiday get together....
should be fun.

I am bound and determined to get some holiday decorations up today. I bought a beautiful pink poinsetta today at the grocery store....and I am going to put up other decorations...and I have to finish my Christmas letter...but I think I will take a nap first.....
Hope your day is great.
Love, Marti

AMEN! Annette.   You are so right on target about wls fixing nothing but our weight.  From what I have seen it seems to take a couple of years for that to sink in.  I guess prior to that we are enjoying our new found skinny-ness.  I am so glad you were'nt injured in the accident.  You have so much wisdom and kindness to share.  I don't know where those demons of depression come from sometimes but hopefully we all get to a point where we want to face them and conquer them.  It is a dfficult task for sure and I don't know if we can always win, but there is some self-satisfaction in knowing we are at least trying to make ourselves better.  It sounds like you have a wonderful, loving husband and I know you thank your lucky stars for that.
