Question about oatmeal

I make a packet of oatmeal with skim milk and add some delicious Da Vinci English Toffee syrup to it.  It's the BEST! 

My question is should one pack be sufficient because I feel like I could eat a little more.  I'm trying to stay within healthy, portion control guidelines.  I'm not sure if my head wants it or if it just tastes so good, I want more.  Any input would be appreciated.

One packet is one serving!  I know what you're saying about eating more tho.  When it tastes so good we just want to keep eating.  Old habits are hard to break.  That's how we got into this situation in the first place!

This is exactly what I wanted to hear.  One serving should be plenty....and I'm sticking to the guidelines and have not allowed myself to slip back into old habits just because something tastes so good.  It's a matter of self-control and discipline at this point.

I'm with you.... oatmeal tastes soooo darn good its easy to eat more than we should.  I have it every morning.  I can even eat it cold...  ( I just saw some of you shudder)... lol

I make the rough cut oatmeal.  I add cranraisins to the water then when it boils I add the oatmeal and a healthy dose of cinnamon.  I use soy milk........  Yum

YUM, that sounds really good.  I have never had cranraisins, but they sound really good. 

I love the Da Vinci English Toffee syrup.  I also add it to my chocolate protein drink and it's really good.  I'm really working hard to keep good eating habits and since I still can't eat very much, I've been doing great.  No craving, etc.  But.....I probably could eat two packets of oatmeal - lol - so I need to keep a watch on it.

I microwave a portion at work at 8am then at about 1030 I'll have 4oz of cottage cheese or
half a banana if I'm still hungry.  I eat lunch around 1.

I'll have a protein drink mid morning if I have oatmeal early morning like I did today.  It sure was yummy, though, on this chilly morning - lol

You know, I'm glad you mentioned that protein drink - I bowed out of it because I add skimmed milk to the whey and it's almost 200 cals but almost 30 protein.  I think I may add that back in again.

 Try adding soy milk to your drink....  it cuts the calories.

I love oatmeal.  I eat it almost every morning.

I use organic steel cut oats (1/3 cup raw which gives me 2/3 cup cooked).
I boil it in water and add a few raisins, cranberries, pumpkin or sunflower sees (raw not salted).  Once cooked I top with 1 tsp flaxseeds ground, 1tsp flaxseed oil, chopped walnuts, cinnamon and 1tsp honey.

YUMMY!

Some days I think I can eat more but I hold off.....2/3 cup cooked is plenty for my daily calorie needs.
