OT - Vision Fluctuation

Have any of you had any experience with this?

For the last 3 months my vision has gotten steadily worse.

I wore trifocals until 1994 when I quit work to become a full-time Grandma.  Within 3 months I needed no correction at all.  My opthamologist said it was due to the stress of my job.

About a year ago I began to use 'cheater' glasses for reading.  Which was pretty normal for my age I think.  About 3 months ago things really began getting worse.  I upped the correction on my cheaters, now I have to sit up close to the computer and use the cheaters to read the screen.  My distance vision is also getting worse.  I will talk to my oncologist about this.  I don't want to pay for another eye exam and get expensive glasses if this is not gonna be permanant.

Can cancer and/or cancer drugs cause this to happen?  Does anyone have any insight (pun intended) about this?

I know among this group there has to be someone who has some experience with this, or knows someone who has.  Thanks!

Sorry you are having these problems with your sight. My grandson's eyes are effected by the chemo/radiation and has to see a eye doctor regularly.
Please talk to your oncologist....you may need your eyes checked after all.

Good luck....hugs....connie d

(((grammylew))) if i remember correctly my sister's eyes were also giving her trouble back when she ws having chemo and radiation...far as i know they are ok now. let your dr know what is going on with your eyes and maybe they can help you on what to do and expect. with my WLS my vision was wacky also and they told me to take vitamin A 5000 IU vision support to help...it has helped alot...might look into that if you want. good luck through all this....hugs and prayers to you :-)

Just a note to be very careful with large doses of Vitamin A not prescribed by a doctor....it can be very dangerous.

when my eyes get dry - my vision gets worse.  Keeping them moist seems to help.  There are several low cost eye drops that help.  Also if my water intake is down the dehydration is a factor in the dry eyes.
