Anyone heard of or tried these? I read about them at my medical massage appt last week. Sounds like they go under  your tongue like the B12 dots. I've tried melatonin in the past as a sleep aide but didn't see that it helped. Might not have taken enough. Any thoughts Michelle or Darlene?

Looks like a lot of sugars for fillers. Have you tried the sleepytime tea with the melatonin tablets?

The U.S. Surgeon General recently gave tips to parents about sleep.

“Make sure your child gets 8 hours of sleep a night—a good night’s sleep ensures maximum performance in academics and sports. Sleep is the body’s way of storing new information to memory and allowing muscles to heal."

These statements by the U.S Surgeon General are even more true as we age. Sleep and rest periods are known ways to ensure your body is ready to tackle any task or necessary physical or mental activity.

My wife and I love to travel (she is from Sweden) and when flying now we’ve stopped taking pills like Ambien or other sleep aids and started using enlyten melatonin. To date, we have been able to sleep longer and noticed greatly reduced jetlag after long flights across the Atlantic.

I take Melotonin and have for about 15 years....It may take you at least a month of taking it for you to feel the results. Perhaps your Melatonin levels are so low that it takes a time to fill up. I only took about 3 mgm for about 8-10 years and then moved up to now I take 25 mgm a day. I felt safe doing this as I read a study in Norway where they gave some women up to 700 mg per day for a year and they never had any side effects.

I think it is so much better than sleeping pills. You n ever have a "hangover" and it is a hormone that is naturally generated in your body, but slows down after 50 years old. My Mother started me on this. She was quite the natural health food person. She lived to 93 years old and never had a serious disease and took no pills....her death certificate read "Failure to Thrive" ..I had never seen that before. But as I sat and watched her, just before she died, her so peaceful sleeping in her bed, she looked like a baby, not a wrinkle on her face....seriously!...she just stopped breathing, the hospice nurse didn't even realize she had passed for a few minutes, I just sat there and held her. She just couldn't keep weight on, no matter how much she ate and she ate a lot....but it went right through her...Nothing the doctors could do.

ANYWAY, I digress....I really believe in Melatonin and I am sure it is safe.

Love, Marti

Marti, Prescription sleep aides do nothing for me except leave me with a hangover and give me night terrors. Perhaps I'll give the melatonin another try. Darlene suggested it with the Sleepytime tea. Hadn't thought of that. I fall asleep easily; I just don't stay asleep for more than 2 hours at a time. Thanks for the input.
