Hi guys, hopins someone on this forumn can share their experience.  I has RNY anout 4 yrs ago, and was freezing all the time after my surgery (for about the 1st yr).  My mom is having surgery in a few weeks, but she is going through menapause right now & is always hot.  Wondering if hse too will be cold post-op.  I know that everybody is different, but i also know that post-op chilloiness is pretty common, so I thought I would try to get some info form anyone who was going through menapause immediately post-op.

I am neither crazy nor nosy--I just want to buy her some comfy jammies/loumge wear for her post-op time &  don't want to overcook her.

Thanks!

I had my surgery 9/15. Everyone has told me how cold I'll be all the time but I'm still waiting for it to happen. I'm past menapause and haven't had the 'hotties' for a while but the thought of wearing flannel or fleece anything raises my temp!  I hope someone else can answer your question!

I'm post-menopausal and am always cold now, whereas before, I'd be fine. But then I'm on HRT. When I was flashing, it was during the summer, and boy, I was miserably hot. However, in the winter, up north here in Michigan, I wear long sleeves, long fleecy nightshirts, sleep under flannel sheets and put on as many blankets as I can ****ep the heat down, though ... don't want to give too much money to the power company!).

how nice that you are trying to help your mom!
i was forced into menopause 5 yrs pre wls--so i don't have those flashes...i used to always be hot-now; i am 5+ years out-when i get cold i get very very cold but usually i am comfy in short sleeves--i tend to layer much more than i used to--maybe some flannel jammies that she can wear as seperates- ya know sleep pants and a tshirt or something- or a snuggle wrap (not that snuggie thing) but layers...warm fat sox for her feet...

comfy loungetype wear that she can walk in and do some exercising in  and look human--

good luck to her! does she have a computer? introduce her to us!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
