Wow, Laureen you are lucky.  I do take all of my vitamins daily too.  I just think people bring it home to me.  I was at a wake and funeral last weekend.  I bet I caught it there.

Mary, I actually have had very few colds since surgery and the ones I've had have been less severe.

When I do get a cold, I take Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea with Echinacea and Zinc ... I start drinking it at the first sign of the cold and it seems to lessen the severity of the cold. Now, it won't make the cold go away entirely, but the symptoms aren't as bad.

I also think that, since I have to take Vitamin C with my Iron every day, I get some extra protection. Don't know if it's true, but I seem to be healthier than the other people in my office.

Hi Eileen,

I am going to try that tea.  I really need something to make me feel better.  I think being in public right now is not a good place to be.  So many people are sick.

I do take vitamin C with my iron.  I think I am taking the wrong Iron though.  I will finish these and get the right kind.

Great you are the healthiest one in your office.  Stay away from the sick ones!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for writing,

Mary

Good morning Eileen, Margo, Laureen, Mary and everyone who follows,

It does seem that there have been a lot of posts recently about surgeries, procedures, loss, and other needs and my prayers and cyber hugs and thoughts of healing go out to everyone going through a tough time right now.  Hugs of cheer and good will for everyone too.

I was up early to make sure my daughter gets off to school on time.  *WHY* do they make high school kids start the day at such an ungodly hour?  I'm about to go down for a nap and it's only 8, lol!

Yesterday we (DH, son, 2 daughters & I) made up slips for our own "Secret Santa" and pulled names from a lunch bag.  This is such a relief and great solution to the financial squeeze problem although it's been in my mind these last few weeks about what has happened to the holidays.

I participate in a social group (on ning) called "Grace In Small Things".  Basically what you do is keep track of the little things that brighten your day and then post them.  Usually people keep it to 5.  You do this for a year and your whole outlook on everything changes throughout that year.  I've only been into this for 3 weeks but already I can feel a difference.

Anyway, yesterday some one posted this pledge and I liked it so much I nicked it from her.  I want to get the book from the library and read it too.

This is how the pledge goes and it's geared to Christmas but I would think it could apply to the other holidays celebrated around this time?

1. To remember those people who truly need my gifts.

2. To express my love for family and friends in more direct ways than presents.

3. To rededicate myself to the spiritual growth of my family.

4. To examine my holiday activities in light of the true spirit of Christmas.

5. To initiate one act of peacemaking within my circle of family and friends.

Thanks for your kindnesses and I like that post and am going to play it forward to many people I know. . .  we have gotten away from what the holiday season means and I think that we need reminding and so I will do my part, I've already pared my list down to what I can afford given the fact that I am now deep in debt, in a good part from my dear Dillinger, so I am not going to make matters worse by giving what I don't have. . .  I have no regrets though. . .  thanks, I think you and I should meet up before too long. . .

Have a great day!  L

Morning Off
Icky weather   Grey and wet.  in other words typical for a November mi day.
First things here  prayers still being offered for all those with health issues or going through other life difficulties,   If you don't believe in prayer  am sending you good thoughts.
My stepdad called last night to tell us  he thinks he needs to move in over here, that he is lonely and cant take it any more, is also so worried about winter bills and such.  SO if we will get him home Saturdays  so he can attend his own church services and pick him up Monday nights  he is gonna make his  home here for the next few months.  And of course hubby said yes!!!   I would have too.      Being hes a big man  the dog house is too small for him, wonder if we can house him in the unfinished train room?  no walls or roof  but he would have it to himself!!!!!    There are already 10 people in this house!!!    I guess we are going to split up the teens.  The 2 boys are going with their permanent care givers.   that will give us the puter room for Ted  and  the house will be ready for all of them in less than two weeks so all is good.  Hate to split up the kids  but what can i do ?  I cant turn down my stepdad.
Heading out in a few for another fruitless day of job search stuff with the job consultant.  I sure am tired of this pointless job hunt!!!  Of course I am the only one who can whine about that huh!!!!!!
 Have a good day everyone

found out this morning that we need to put my callie cat down - i think it will be saturday...she has had a full life. i see it as a blessing for her- michael sees it as more inconvenience-wonder if i can get a 2 for 1????

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
