What's new Thursday
Seems lots of people are in need lately, what with surgeries and procedures, etc. I hope all this goes well. Ruth has surgery this week, too, so I hope she's OK.
I'm just sitting here at work, waiting for something else to do. I did my page (I'm actually doing a Grand Rapids page tonight), so now I'm just waiting for someone to proof it. I'm supposed to help out an intern tonight, too.
Otherwise, not much else is going on. I started later, so I'll go home later. What's up with you? I'll check back later.
i need to kick my butt in gear packing and purging today--spent yesterday on teh phone setting things up and making changes and then soem shopping--my baby turns 30 next week- his surprise birthday party coming up ...also soem Christmas shopping so maybe i can wrap and leave some of teh gifts here vs mailing everything once we move!
michael cancelled his dr appt for his leg and went to PT...i got him scheduled for PT in the new place so that is good...will keep compliant with worker's comp!
he is still very angry about a lot and i am tired of listening to the same ol same ol...and i am not backing down right now- so---life goes on....
rained here yesterday-thought we might get the "mix" but it only got down to 41 overnite! i have to say that moving to northern michigan is nuts vs hawaii! however, it was pretty thursday morning to lie in bed and see the big fat wet snowflakes falling!!!!
i'll check back later to see what everyone else is up to-may grab a few more zzz's too....
hugs and prayers................
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Yes, lots of stuff going on here, people dealing with parents, cancer, losing parents, I guess a good part of what we deal with on this board is "age related" us being of mature ages that is ;)
I certainly hope those dealing with surgeries and other major health concerns get good results!
It's Thursday already and that is great, as I am looking forward to my support leadership role which occurs every First Saturday of the month and this month I won't feel guilty that I am leaving my buddy alone for another day, as we have a leadership breakfast to discuss topics and who will lead which group and than the meeting from noon until 4 p.m., by the time you speak with people who want to talk about things one on one, it's a full day, but I love being a part of it.
Each day finds me feeling a little better than the day before and while a little over a week ago, I was thinking I could never go through this heartache again, I miss wet noses and sloppy kisses and the comfort of petting that furry head, so while it won't be right away, I'm thinking by spring I will get me a new companion, but we shall see. . . Well I guess I should get ready for work and tonight is my AA home group, oh and I finally darkened the doorway of my gym and while I am achy this morning it felt great!
Wishing everyone a good day and hoping whatever challenges await you, you realize the strength to get through it.
Hugs, Laureen

Well I have to get busy finishing my blanket for my dad for Christmas. I am just procrastinating. I don't have that much time left!
I am trying to get into the spirit but I have a bad cold now and can't think of anything but getting rid of it. I have no clue where I picked up this bug.
I guess better get it now than over the Holidays. Do you think your immune system is compromised after surgery? Do you get colds or anything else more than you did before?
I know there are a lot of people who need prayers and good thoughts so I am doing the best I can to add that to my daily routine.
It seems like everyone is busy busy busy. I am trying to slow down a little while I get over this cold. I just don't feel like doing anything.
Well I got up earlier than I wanted and on my second cup of coffee. So take care and have a great day.

I'm sorry to hear about your cold, yuck! I wouldn't be a bit surprised if our immune systems were compromised after surgery. Any kind of surgery is a shock to the body so I imagine fighting off bugs would be harder while we're recovering. About me -- yes, I did pick up a couple of viruses in the weeks and months after surgery. Blech. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Cassie

You are probably right. It is harder to shake things after surgery. I am hoping this one doesn't last long. I have asthma and it always settles in my chest and I have a hard time getting rid of it.
Sorry you have to put up with virus's too.
Thanks for the well wishes!

Yep this cold has got me down. I am coughing every second when I am awake or sleeping. It is taking a toll on my whole body.
I get allergies too.
Thanks for posting!

Funny thing is since I had my surgery, I have hardly ever been sick, perhaps it is all the vitamins and healthier living I am doing, but I think maybe I've had two colds and a mild bug in the last 2+ years!
Take care, Laureen
