Good Morning Carla.....I don't know where you get your energy from.

Morning all!

Well my nightmare guests have left and I'm sad to say I/we are glad.  If I were to list the amount of things she did or said you would be astonished.  We mentioned a few of the things to a very close friend of ours and to Matthew's sister, they both said we should tell her to leave (that was on Friday morning........at that point I said lets not make an issue of this it's only one more day.  Well her daughter wasn't feeling well on Saturday so around 1pm I said why don't check with the airline maybe they have a cancellation.  She did and they did so they left last night instead of 4am this morning.

Life is all about lessons and learning from them.  I learned a couple this week.
1- if someone who is really not a "friend" but more of a friendly acquaintance invites them self over think twice (Matthew says just say no but I'll see....lol).
2- if someone says they are coming for a couple days and then almost last min tells you they booked an 8 day stay, open my mouth and say that it doesn't work for me.  (If she were my best friend or family I wouldn't care how long they stayed....they could stay the month and it would be just fine).
3- If a guest in your house does something that really upsets or bothers me say something about it day 1....don't let it build up inside.  It's my house and my property and there should be a certain level of respect of it.

ANYHOW.........I'm going to let it all drop..

The landscaping job is still not finished...they are coming again this morning to hopefully finish the sod.  This 4 day job is now on day 7 or 8!!!

I'm off.....got laundry to do and food to cook in preparation for surgery on Weds .

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!
TTFN

Oh boy, glad to hear the guests from the hot place left!  That was pretty nervy to come and stay for 8 days when it was just supposed to be a couple, LOL!  I liked what Ben Franklin said--can't remember it exactly, but it was something to effect of that after 3 days, guests and fish stink.

Good morning ya'll.

I woke up full of Christmas Spirit this morning.  I wasn't gonna put up and Christmas stuff this year.  From Dec 7 to Jan 18th I'll be at Hope Lodge in Greenville for radiation.  I will be home for the weekends and for Christmas and New Years, but I didn't think that would give me time to enjoy all my 'stuff'.  Plus I knew I would NOT feel up to putting it all away.  But, my Sis sent me 2 adorable ornaments, and months ago I ordered 2 ornaments with my Mom and Dad's names on them.  SO...this morning I went up into the attic and got my tree down.  It is just one of those tiny ones.  All the decorations are ones my Sis made for me years ago when she had her craft business, or they are ones that have major significance for me.  I also have the CD player out playing carols very low in the background.  This is just one box, and it won't be hard to put the tree back inside and take it to the shed.  I did not bring down the endless boxes of my village.  The plan was that after Christmas all the decorations would be stored out in our new shed (no more digging around in the attic). Of course those plans were formed well before the Dr. discovered my cancer!!  My DH came in to see what I had accomplished and wanted to know where my skaters were.  They are still in the attic!

Every Christmas there is a HUGE Christmas party with friends, neighbors, etc.  I hosted it last year.  We just have appetizers.  There is a gift exchange and then a white elephant thingy.  This year I will NOT be hosting, and probably not attending.  So I also brought down from the attic, the boxes of Christmas serving bowls, tablecloths, plates, napkins, etc, so whoever IS hosting this year won't have to buy that stuff.

I did all that before 8 AM, so I think I have done my days work!

Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Carla, I hope the new job is everything you want it to be!

Nancy, I bet this will be the best birthday your Momma has ever had.  It sounds fantastic.

Jeanie, Hang in there with the feeding tube.  Sometimes we have to put up with some pretty awful stuff to make ourselves feel better in the end.  You can do it!

Karen, with a personal trainer you'll be 'buff' in no time! Do you WANT to be 'buff'?

Brenda, I hope you are feeling better.  It's too bad your DH isn't there to tend to your every need.  But I know what it's like to be a 'hunting widow'.

Ruth, you know what they say.  Guests are like  dead fish, after 3 days they both begin to stink!  There are always 'shoulda, coulda, woulda' moments after an experience like that.  But at least you'll be prepared for next time.

Jo, I hope your day gets better.  Whatever has you in a funk, I pray it will resolve.

Grammylew.....LOL !  Matthew said the same thing to me last night....he said guests stay 3 days after that they have moved in or are freeloaders....

As you said, I live and learn....never to old to learn.  I only wish I learned to stick up for myself and speak up earlier in life...it would have been a helpful thing.

Well have a wonderful day. I'm off to enjoy some sunshine.

Not good at remembering who I want to address, so lets just say I'm thinking pleasantries for everyone today.
Took salmon out for dinner and calico beans.  What a combination, but I really like both of them.  Saturday I'm going to a christmas get together and I'm bringing a salad with meat and cheese on it.  All of us love salads, so that's what I'm contributing.  Hopefully no one will bring anything bad for us.
Spent the day yesterday shopping.  Today I don't know what we'll do.  Maybe bring in the christmas stuff.  We'll see.
Maybe it'll just be a lazy day.  I've got all of the gifts wrapped so I'm all set.  I think.
Blessings to all.

Hi Jan,
Can you believe the Christmas gatherings are starting already.....
I'm almost all finished with all my shopping.  Just have 3 more gifts to wrap and 2 or 3 more to buy but that will be done on-line and shipped directly to them.  I'll be all done in time for my surgery so I don't have to think about it.

Enjoy your gathering.
Have a good day!
PS- I'm voting for a lazy day.....I'm going to have mine on Tuesday.
