Hi everyone,

I'm new to this board but have been a member of OH since 2008, which is when my DH and I started looking into WLS.  I think I came across this board once before but "lost" it somehow.  I've bookmarked it so I can come back to visit!

My DH and I are both 55 this year.  He had a duodenal switch in November 2008 and has lost nearly 200 lbs.  I had one in April of this year and finally reached Onederland for the first time since my youngest was a toddler.  She's 17, going on 18 now.

I love to read books and walk.  I love cats and have 6, all of them rescues.  My DH and I were both previously widowed and we've been married 7-1/2 years now.  We both feel blessed to have found each other ... on Match.com, LOL.  He has two grown daughters from his first marriage and I have 3 from mine--a son and two daughters.  I am also nana to 5 grandchildren--my two stepdaughters have kids ranging in age from 5 to 15.

That's about it, don't want to bore everyone to tears.  I look forward to meeting the people here.  :)

Welcome back to OFF, Cassie. I am so glad that you found us again and bookmarked us. We are a great bunch of people here...the best that OH has to offer if you most of us. But then again we might be a bit bias! ha ha

Post often so we can get to know you and please feel free to join in each day for our morning (or when you can get here) chat on the what is going on thread. I see that you have posted there today. Just before me. I hope that you keep joining us.

Again, welcome back to OFF and join us when you can. We love new family members.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Cassie,

Welcome to our corner of the universe, where we share in one another's lives, where our joys are multiplied and sorrows shared, divided.  Support and information shared is a good part of this journey and on this board there is plenty to be had.  We even have a little squabble, now and again, just like good siblings.  Then there are some of us who travel around and make it our business to meet with one another if an opportunity presents itself, but what brought us all here was the decision to have healthier lives.

Sounds like you and your husband have found are living a wonderful life and I am looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hope you have an enjoyable day!

Warm wishes, Laureen

P.S.  We are even neighbors and there is another one of our members here who also lives nearby.

Thanks so much, Laureen!  Everyone's been so nice & friendly, it feels good!  Yes, we are neighbors!  Maple Shade's not so very far from Browns Mills at all!  Do the board members from NJ get together?
