Hi Eileen and all my OFF Friends,
I'm going right after work today to get my hair cut for Thanksgiving.  That will give it a few days to not have that just cut look.
Hubby and I ended up being the top pie sellers at scouts last night.  That earned us $297.  That is enough to pay for one week of camp for one scout.  Or it can help with a scout going to the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree next summer.  Now all we have to do is select who needs it the most.  The scoutmaster should be able to help us with that.
The grandkids will be here Weds. afternoon so I'm trying to think of a project I can do with them.  Maybe make Rice Krispie squares or shapes.  I have some Thanksgiving cookie cutters they could press them into.
Our 24 lb. Turkey is in the fridge defrosting.  Holy cow - one week.  We are having dinner at noon so I will have to get up at the butt-crack of dawn to put it in the oven.   Just remembered I need to get some Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix.  I want to get all the floors washed on Sunday.  I cleaned the fridge last night.  Tonight I need to re-caulk around the tub.  Hubby has been banished from doing it because it looks like he put frosting on all the tiles when he is done.  He tries to caulk and grout at the same time.
We have done it again - started following too many TV shows.  Now I don't want to miss them, but I need to get things done around here!  I think I'm addicted.  I feel like I'm in a rut between work, housework and plopping myself down in front of the TV.  I think I need to find a Zumba class somewhere.
Weddings, pets, moves and family - it looks like we all need a few hugs around here.
Here's a big one from me.

Bev:
Have you ever considered doing your turkey the day before???  I've done it a couple times.  I roast it as usual, then slice it all up in a big roaster pan and pour the juices over it to keep it moist....then the day of you can just reheat it.....takes a lot of pressure off and keeps the oven free for other dishes.

Hi Pat,
I thought my husband would like to do the traditional thing but I just asked and he said yeah, let's do it the day before.  That surprised me to say the least.
Thanks for making the suggestion.  We have done this at Christmas when we were doing buffet, but not for Thanksgiving.
That will definitely make my job easier.

We just bought an 18 quart roaster to do ours in.  That will keep the oven free for Mary to do pies on Thanksgiving morning.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi Everyone -
Things are still going well.  I am careful with my new pouch and trying to do everything right - I must be doing it, since I don't have any issues.  (other than slow going in the bathroom dept., which I am trying to remedy with Benefiber!)
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving next week, although Michael and I aren't 100% sure what we'll do.  He has a procedure to be done in an overnight hospital visit Tues/Wednes and I'm scheduled to be the only one in HR part of the day, so will have to figure that out.  Then on Thursday we are invited to my Brother's and SIL's for dinner.  They have it often, but last year I was in the hospital having my knee replaced, and Michael went and my niece's boys had some kind of bug, which EVERYONE there ended up getting - a bad stomach one!  Michael couldn't even visit me!  This year, with him being between hospital visits (this procedure and his RNY on Dec. 16), we aren't taking chances!  So we may just end up at home.
I need a haircut!  Luckily my sis is a stylist, so I get to visit with her when I get a cut.   I'm still busy at work, but seeing the end of a couple projects ahead.  Yay!
Hope everyone has a good day.
Mary

I'm down 120 pounds - thanks to RNY!  Working on the next 25.  Then I'll tackle more...

Today I spent the whole day at our old house with Steve getting ready to move the last of our things on Sunday.  We raked leaves for over 5 hours.  I sure couldn't do that before my RNY!  Steve took apart our grandfather clock.  Packed up the pendulum, and the weights. I just hope that he can get everything back together once it is in the apartment.
