Wow....4 Panic attacks in a row.....scary and exhausting!

Yesterday afternoon, I was sitting in my kitchen watching tv while I was taking pills and supplements....[I have a huge gag reflex, so I have to take them slowly]...All of a sudden out of the blue....I had a panic attack.....my ears start roaring, the roaring starts in my chest and up to my head and then I pass out....since I have passed out in my kitchen before and hurt myself, I was able this time to get down  so I didn't hurt myself when I passed out....it was for only a few second.....then I got to my bedroom and turned on my oxygen and took an alprazolam under my tongue.......to make it work fast.

I passed out again as soon as I got to my bedroom, but made it to the bed, got my oxygen on and called Mike who was at our daughters [one mile away] and passed out while I was talking to him and dropped the phone and finally was able to find it under my nightstand.

Took another alprazolam....it helps my body understand there is no emergency and it can calm down.....it just takes it a little while to now that..

Passed out again and this time, Mike was there when I came around, he covered me up and sat next to me until I finally fell asleep. I slept until 4am...took another alprazolam and slept until  8am.

Today I am better, but still a little shaky....apparently they feel sometimes my oxygen levels drop too far below 80 and that causes my attacks.

Needless to say I never posted last night.
Love, Marti

Wow, how scarey is that??? (no pun intended)  I'm lucky, I've never experienced a panic attack, but know people that do, however none of them pass out.  Is that common?  If you do deep breathing exercises throughout the day, would that help?
Hope you're feeling better now.

Glad you are feeling better. My mom has panic attacks at times, basically when she gets impatient or if she has to travel ... the last time was when she had to go to my nephew's wedding ... she had a panic attack and thought she was having a heart attack. She ended up in the hospital overnight and we missed our flight that day, she ate the charge for the tickets and bought new ones the next day out of Midway instead of O'Hare (which is closer to her, but actually this was a nice flight). This happens to her often when she has to travel ... she gets herself all worked up and then her heart races.

Rest up, Marti and relax. Could this new diet you're on have something to do with this (I don't know if you started it or not).

Marti,,

Panic attacks are frightening, 4 in a row EGADS!!!!!!

My therapist sent me to a special panic attack group. We learned to be aware of "trigger" situations and breathing/relaxation techniques. It helped for some attacks but never the ones that pounce without warning. Never had 4 in a row though.

Big HUG headed your way.

Marti, I am so sorry for all the panic attacks that happened to you. I have had them before and they are terrible but I have never had 4 at one time like that.

Please take care of yourself. You never know where you will be or what you will be doing when they hit you.

Marti,

I hope you make an appointment for a checkup.  Kind of frightening that you kept passing out.  I'd check to be sure you don't have something else going on.  HUGS....hope you feel better soon.

Aloha sweet Marti........Oh my god!! I can't imagine how scary that must be to keep passing out time after time!! I have experienced panic attacks a few times and they are awful....but mine are usually before going to the dentist, or once while having my hair cut.......what's with that????? For me I hyperventilate and feel like I'm going to die. Then it just slowly passes, and I never want to experience one again.

I agree with the others, though, this sounds like more than simple panic attacks.....something else going on here. I am officially worried about you.

Please take care, and feel a bear hug coming from me.!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Marti,

It is wonderful to see your face, but I 2nd Maui Karen on this one and am very concerned about you, as I've never heard of anyone who passes out when having panic attacks before, so long as you are ok now.  Please be careful, what concerns me is if you were in a situation where passing out could cause you more serious harm, such as driving. . .

Sending you hugs and warm wishes, Laureen
