OKay...HUMP DAY!

I have some errands...out to buy a wheelchair for Mom today then visit her and take her ID back to her (needed that for her health card renewal), help her fill out her weekly menu for her meals that are now delivered and cleaning up her room for her.

I also have homework to finish for the medical clinic in Burlington...I have an appointment with the Bariactric Educator on Thursday morning.  I believe that I will get my meal plans this visit.

It went down to 1 degree celcius last night!! egad! Strange after such a mild day. Thank goodness the homemade chocolate-nut cupcakes made by the lady next door are all gone. Shew sent over a dozen!  Store-bought deserts, I can leave alone but put a homemade dessert in front of me and I hear it call my name...and I don't even LIKE chocolate cake!

Today, I will be home for meals so this is my plan:

B    Matrix hot chocolate protein drink made w/ skim or low fat milk powder for more protein (already regulated by the medical clinic programme)

S     banana (Dr's orders) & a piece of hard cheese

L     LF cottage cheese and unsweetened crushed pineapple

S     2 hard-boiled eggs mixed w/ LF mayonaise on some low-fat multigrain crackers

D     liver (left from sorority dinner meeting last night) & salad

S     thin slices of rosemary ham covered with cream cheese and sprinkled with sunflower seeds then rolled and wrapped with romaine lettuce leaves for crunch

SUPPLEMENTS:

multiple vitamin

iron

magnesium

VB1, B6, B12

Vitamin A

vitamin C

vitamin D

vitamin E

Omega oils

calcium citrate

1 fluid pill with potassium

Morning Nancy,

Yesterday was pretty good, at least I made it to 1400 cals that my Nut suggests. Probably too many carbs, but  not too far off from her recommendations. Still holing at a hair's breath away from the dreaded 130#, which scares the bejeebers out of me.

Bkfst Burrito

1% latte

s- 1/2 pb&j --double fiber bread, SF jelly

L- 2 oz grilled chicken, green beans, sweetpotato

latte- FF SF

s--sm bean & cheese burrito (ww tortilla)

Lean Cuisine seseme chicken

FFSF pudding

12 mini pretzels

cals:  1407   fat 29  carb 199  fiber 37  pro 98

I'm not too good at looking ahead and planning.  Yesterday I took one hour at a time.  When I felt the urge to graze (which I've been doing altogether too much of lately...) I grabbed something liquid.

I had my first day in longer than I care to admit, with NO grazing.  NO junk.  Just protein and good carbs, and healthy stuff.

Only forgot one multivitamin.

Feels good.

Today I'll get in all the vitamins as well...

One day at a time.

Thanks for doing this Nance.....I hope your Mom appreciates all you do for her....most of the time they really are not able to remember things and they hang on sooo tight because they are frightened that they are not even sure of people's names. In the book "Water for Elephants" he is upset because his aide is going on vacation and he has just been able to remember her name for the last few days.....he thinks to himself ....."By the time she gets back I will have forgotten it" He also does not really remember his grandchildren's names either, he does remember his children....but not all the things they tell him.

It is so difficult for everyone as our parents age. I wonder what I will be like at their ages.

Well today is my third day of the purification and I think I have got things organized now the way I need to have it work.....I have everything in sealed glass jars and labeled with what it is and what is the dosage.....I hate stuff on my kitchen counter, but at least this doesn't look too horrible and I can sit down and do the pills while I watdh TV in the kitchen.

I have even managed to put all my supplements in glass jars too and I count them out  I put them all in little silver cups to take three times a day. I hate hate hate taking pills and it takes me awhile to get everything down. There are now 12 pills 3 times a day, then another 7 at bedtime.

I made a vegetable mushroom lentil curried sauce to go inside baked acorn squash. Not sure how it will be, but I thought since I can't have meat, that the portobella mushrooms would make it seem like it. We will see.

I worked out HARD this morning for an hour in the pool, sure have been tired today, but I really felt good when I was working out.

Today
1 complete whey shakes with supplements
Italian vege soup left over from last night
small head of organic lettuce cut in wedges [until I ate it all] with some home made dressing.
olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard, clove of garlic minced, basil, and little water....really good and filling.

I still need 2 shakes, 4 glasses of water, rest of my supplements, and dinner. Oy Vay!!!!
Love, Marti

ps. It is very surprising that I am not having any problem with giving up the wine....but the ocassional cigarette is a problem....and I don't even inhale.
pps Nance I love the sound of your little lettuce wraps, but I would need to replace the ham with free range chicken......do you sell free range chickens?

I've been just eating out of the fridge. I really need to start planning meals....and sticking to the plan!

Today....
B - Chai Tea
L - 2 Deli turkey with Muenster cheese roll-ups...I didn't notice the cheese was low sodium instead of low fat until I entered it in my journal! That left a mark!
S - no snack, going out to eat....
D - Mexican! Share fajitas with DH and I don't have a clue how to count this!
1 small corn tortilla spread with refried beans and guacamole (1 tsp each?), wrapped around 3 shrimp, 1 piece each of grilled squash and grilled onion. 1/2 strip of beef, 3 more shrimp dipped in beans. I left full!

Lord that sounds like a lot but it really wasn't!!!

LNS - more chai tea if I stay up late as usual.  I just love this stuff!
