Jan,

Wait a bit before taking the 14's to a tailor. By the time they are altered, you will probably need a 12. Just a thought.

As I was losing, my SIL gave me a ton of clothes; many still had price tags. Before long, they were too big.

We do go through wardrobes quickly but it is rather fun to buy smaller sizes. Good going.

Gosh Jacki,
It seems that you need lots of extra hugs right now. I'm so sorry. I'm thinking that you are feeling like life is out of control just now. Just hang on and breathe through it. I've been there and I know that you are probably feeling physically ill with the stress. Lean on me if you need a friend.
I'm off to a play in Sonora again, this time "Little Women". We are going to a holiday luncheon beforehand... I'm wearing Christmas red.
We finally got my daughter's roomates out yesterday. WHEW! One owes me $400.00 in back rent and the other accidentally punched a hole in a wall while moving his bed. I think she will live alone from now on. We went to the animal shelter and fell in love with a dog- were scheduled to pick her up today, but someone screwed up- she had already been adopted and they picked her up yesterday. That was hard- we already loved her. Now we are feeling like we will wait a while.
It's almost time to go- have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi Jacki and my OFF family:

Cry if you need to, it's OK. I did that a lot in the past two weeks about work ... both over the phone to my friend Mary Kay (the only person *****ally understood ... everyone else would say, "Well, it's a job, you should be happy you're employed." ... and also just to myself). I'm done with it now and feel better. I tend to be very expressive anyway, very emotional and crying always makes me feel better in the long run. Maybe that's why I feel better coming here and writing my feelings. I feel someone will listen.

You are carrying a big load for everyone else; that's really tough. You have to unload on someone, so unload on us. I'm so sorry about your mom and your hubby. I hope everything will turn out OK.

It's sunny and 62 degrees here in West Michigan ... wow, it's like spring again. I don't know what to wear anymore. By the time I leave work, it's cool again, but when I go, it's warm. I'm chilled in the house, however.

Not a whole lot planned today; I have to work, unfortunately. Hopefully, I'll be busy throughout the night. I was told we have nine pages ... I did one last night (advance NFL page). The problem with sports is a lot of the stuff comes late, so you're rushing to get things done and you sit there early with nothing to do. One of the many reasons I got out of sports. Last night was like that, although I did get some proofing work from the news side, which now realizes I can help them out (thanks to the talk with my boss on Tuesday). And I went around early in the evening and told everyone to give me something to do and if I couldn't take it, I'd let them know. From about 11:30 p.m. on, it was super busy. Before that, it was really slow.

Then tomorrow, I have to get ready to leave for my brother's in Wisconsin and a week off ... not an exciting vacation, but at least it's a week off.

Well, I hope it all works out for you, Jacki. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Have a good day.

HI Jacki and everyone!

I hope everything goes ok with your mom and all the other problems you are having.

Margo, how nice to have another bird.  I used to have two parakeets.  I taught one to say different things.  He was so smart.   I tried to get him to call my husband a name and never quite made it because my little dog killed him.  We used to let him out of the cage once in awhile.  I was heart broken.  Got another one and hung his cage on the porch and somehow he got out.  I don't have luck with birds, though I love them.

I have been busy the last couple of days doing odds and ends and taking time to visit my art teacher.  Who by the way made a batch of chocolat, peanut butter and chocolate brownies for my family.  Great.  They look delicious.  She is very kind and needs all the support now she can get.  Her husband is extremely ill.

Well... Nothing else new.  Just wanted to say hi to all my friends here.

Hmmmm, Saturday.... and Friday....

Well, went to a funeral on Friday. Took the day off and just went. It was a beautiful but very small service, mostly family, so glad I went to support my friend. She broke down and cried when she saw me.

After the services (my sister went with me), we just took a leisurely ride through the country and then went to... well.. nebbermind.  Until you all start paying my bills, I doubt I have to explain...

Anyway, got back into town this morning in time to get to Sprouts and get some veggies.. then to Central Market to get my Mootopia milk... and home.  Unloaded the groceries, got back in the car and found an estate sale... got an almost new waffle iron (brother wants one for Christmas and why buy a new one..:) ), then found an old fashioned meat grinder like my grandmother used to have... and a set of crab scissors.  ALMOST bought an incredible living room suite at an unbelieveable price but the sofa was too long and I would have had to have bought TWO chairs.  Just didn't have the room so passed it up.

On the way back from the estate sale... and right up the road...is the Romanian Church. They were having a Food Festival.  $5 to get in.. and $15 for the combo dinner.  Came with 2 cabbage rolls, a piece of lamb pastrami, 2 pork and lamb sausages, polenta w/feta cheese and sour cream, and Romanian cole slaw.  Needless to say, I've got a week's worth of Romanian food in my refrigerator.  Let's don't talk about my xtra 4 lbs...:(  The Romanian music was great and they had dancers in their native costumes.  I had no idea we had such a large Romanian contingency in the area.  Speaking of that.. Euless has one of the largest Tonga communities.

FINALLY got settled into the house and now laundry is calling my name.  Not tough to do right now as the tv is on and I'm learning how to commit the perfect murder.

That's it from the homefront.

All who are hurting, please take comfort in remembering, "this too, shall pass".

Jacki

Sorry to hear about your husband. But one good thing, it's one of most curable types of cancer. I'm not trying to minimize the seriousness of it as it would devastating news for anyone, but there is lots of hope here. I wish both of you the best and pray for a positive outcome.
