Sorry about your BIL, but as you said, he is at peace and that's better. I felt the same way about my dad when he died. He was in so much pain it was hard to watch.

You're in my thoughts.

Pat,

I am sorry for your loss. It is a time of sadness and relief when people have been in pain.

sending love pat.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning OFF family,
The sun is shining here in Kalamazoo, it really puts a smile on my face and I need that today.

My girlfriends 9 yr old nephew just died from the flu. I think the funeral is Monday. My heart goes out to that family.

Pat, prayers to you and your family.

Yesterday I got the H1N1 shot around 3pm. When I got home a little after 5, I felt ucky...sleepy, nauseated and anxious. Hubby wasn't home and I didn't know what reactions people get with this shot...laid on the couch and he came home and knew instantly I wasn't myself. Told him to keep a close eye on me, that I wanted to go to bed and sleep. Felt better about 3 hours later. Today I'm feeling just fine...go figure!!

Plans for this weekend: Bariatric support group at 1pm. Going to work out at the gym with BF Deb who had the lap band and has done great with it. I love working out with Deb. We can laugh at our wacky shar pai thighs when we are in the pool. We really are comfortable in our own skin so to speak and have accepted our bodies on how they turned out. We both have chosen to exercise and no plastics. (neither of us can afford it)

Church on Sunday. My pastor just called me and said he noticed we weren't there lately. We have gone camping and then missed another Sunday cuz we took my MIL to her church. Guess it's good to be missed when you don't go to church! LOL I love smaller churches just cuz it really feels like you have a church family.

Deb..
OMG that's so sad about your friends nephew!!  My heart goes out to that family!!
The regular flu and H1N1 vaccines here in Ny are very scarce.  It's kind of scary.  I got the regular flu shot, but there are very few places where I am that have the H1N1 vaccine.  I had read that the governor declared us a state of emergency because of the lack of the vaccine.  He had hoped it would speed things up..don't know if it worked or not.
  Have fun this week end..
  Stay safe and well..

Thanks Marcy.
Yes we had 2 people die in Kalamazoo on Wednesday.
I didn't think twice about getting the vaccine. It's scary out there plus I work in the hospital.
I wash my hands constantly and have my own bottle of hand sanitizer on my desk.

This flu really kicks butt. A girl at my friend's school in Wisconsin died of swine flu; a coworker's sister died of flu (but not swine) complications (she was in her 50s or early 60s and had heart problems). So if you're sick, stay home; if you have issues, get to the doctor. I had a friend in South Dakota whose swine flu developed into pneumonia; she's doing better, but she passed it along to her kids (and that's unusual; it's usually the other way around ... all are fine now).

My friend Roxane's daughter Erin, my goddaughter, seems to have the flu ... she has asthma, so she catches a lot of colds and such. Rox is a nurse, but she is not one to coddle anyone over colds, not even her own kids. And Erin is a tough little girl (Rox is my age; Erin is 8). I hope she stayed home from school at least.
